I Trust you (not?)

Just when she thought that Lena was okay with Kara being Supergirl, here they were with Kara standing inside an ice cube and effected by Kryptonite looking at Lena with the saddest eyes ever.

"Are you going to kill me?"

"I don't want to kill you. I'm not a villain you shouldn't have treated me like one."

This was limit to Kara's patience.

"I treated you like a villain? Me? When James, Alex, Winn, J'onn, Maggie everyone turned against you I was the one to stand up and believe you.

When everyone thought that your device was the reason for children being poisoned I believed in you.

Even after I found out that you had Kryptonite, the only thing that could kill me, I still believed in you. Even though it blew me off for a minute I did believe in you.

You created Harun-El for Rao's sake, Lena. But I believed you.

Remember when you told me that you were working with Lex? I still believed you.

I could trust you with my life Lee.

Out of all the people in the whole wide world, I was the only person that always believed in the good that resides inside your heart. Because I know your last name does not define who you are. And I'll always trust you. Always.

Even if you kill me today, I'll still believe you."

"Why do you think this hurts so much, Kara? The fact that the only person who I was opening up to all this time, couldn't tell me about such an important thing in their life. Couldn't believe me that I won't use it against them."

"I never and believe me, never thought that you were gonna expose my identity or anything. I did it because the people who know my identity was in serious threat. We had to mind-wipe Alex. She didn't know my identity for a few months.

If you do want to know, I was gonna tell you, on that plane. I had my glasses off and everything. But then you were so heartbroken about Eve betraying you that I couldn't bring myself to tell you the truth.

There it is. Now you can do whatever you want to do with me and I won't say a word."

The Super said and knelt on the ground with her hand surrendering herself to the lady in front of her completely.

Lena didn't realise that the transmitter portal watch fell down and was in that cubicle with Kara.

The cave AI started initiating elimination protocol.

Kara looked up. She was smiling at her friend.

"I didn't do it, Kara. Believe me, I did not.  "

"I do believe you, Lee."

The fortress defences started counting down. The force of kryptonite in that cube was increasing. It was getting harder and harder for Kara to breath inside of it.

Lena started typing different sequences on the portal.

"Don't try so hard Lee. If it is my end, that let it be."

"No, this can not be the end. I won't let it be the end. You are my best friend Kara. I couldn't lose you. If you're not in my life, I'll be all alone again."

She was still pressing different buttons of the portal. Finally, the defences stopped working and the ice in which Kara was trapped in disappeared.

Kara was breathing heavily. Lena went and caressed Kara's face.

"Don't worry, Lee. I'll be fine. Call Alex."

She said that and lost her conscious.

Lena immediately contacted Alex and called her at the fortress. Alex panicked as soon as she entered in.

"What happened? Did Leviathan do this?"

Brainy was with her as well.

"Seems like she's breathed in kryptonite fumes. We need to move her to the DEO, now."

"Okay. Let's go."

All three of them went to DEO and Kara was taken into the med bay. Alex was treating her with a team of doctors. Lena was tapping her foot in anxiety.

After some time Alex came in. She stood up immediately.

"How's she?"

"We were able to extract the kryptonite. She'll wake up in a few hours."

"Can I?"

"Yes. Of course."

She wouldn't say that if she knew what I did. Lena thought and went inside the room. She sat by Kara.

"I'm so, so, so sorry Kara. I swear I wasn't going to hurt you. How could I? You know how bad I am at making friends. Sorry."

She said and held the Super's hand. She was sitting right there looking at her for a very long time. Finally, she dozed off looking at her.

"Well isn't that a beautiful sight to wake up to?"

That woke her up. Kara was looking at her smiling. Tears welled up in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry Kara. I didn't mean to."

"Don't worry Lee. I know. Come here."

She scooted a little to make space for her "best friend" on the bed. Lena sat there and Kara pulled her in a tight embrace.

Kara started speaking again.

"Lee, have you ever realised that the things we do together are not the things that normal best friends do."

Oh my God, we're having this conversation.

"Yes. I have a clue."

"Like flooding my office with flowers, looking at me longingly when I leave. If I didn't know better I would've thought that you like me or something."

"What if I do?"

"Huh?"

"What if I do like you?"

"That's not possible. I mean, you're... Well, you."

"What is that supposed to mean? Do you think I'm not capable of loving someone?"

"You're the most capable person for loving or showing affection and care. I just mean you're so beautiful, amazing and then on the top of that you're rich as and I'm Kara. Just Kara."

"Well, Just Kara is my favourite person in the world."

"Well, you were trying to kill me."

That made Lena stiffen and she pulled away from Kara's embrace.

"I don't know if you'll believe it or not, but I programmed the fortress defences to trap you, not to attack or kill you. I don't know what happened, something might've gone wrong. But I suppose you won't believe me."

"It doesn't matter. What matters the most is, you're with me, here, right now."

"It does matter for me, I'll prove that I wasn't trying to kill you."

"You don't have to prove anything Lee."

"Yes. I do. I'll go back to the fortress and will prove myself worthy of trust."

"I don't think you going to fortress is such a good idea right now, Lee."

That struck Lena. It broke her heart that she lost the trust of Kara.

"Well, fine. I won't go anywhere near the fortress. But I'll prove that I wasn't trying to kill you. I'll see you later."

She said and left the room. Kara wasn't sure if she was ready to let Lena that much in again after she tried stealing Myriad.
