So, I wrote this more than 10,000-word fic just because I wanted to.

Trigger Warning: Mention of Abuse

"This might be one of the stupidest decisions I've made in my entire life and I have a tattoo that says Tanghulu in Mandarin on my butt."

Sam was trying to help Lena get ready while trying to calm her down before she explodes.

"Will you stop overthinking it? You said you were ready, you believe in science. This is science."

"Curing cancer is science, this is just complete idiocracy."

"Why did you fill up the application then?"

"Because I was drunk and none of you was there to stop me."

Sam sighed and motioned Lena to sit beside her.

"Look at me. No, look at me. There you go. I am sure whoever is behind that door will love you for who you are and if they don't I'll kick their ass. Sounds like a plan?"

Lena nodded and took a few deep breaths before standing up.

"Okay, okay. What is the worst that could happen?"

"You might end up marrying a serial killer."

"Not helping!"

She stood in front of the mirror and looked at herself in the white gown. It was overwhelming, she felt vulnerable.

"Just one last thing."

She heard Sam say behind her and felt something being clipped in her hair. The veil, of course.

"You look beautiful, Lee."

Sam wiped her cheeks to get rid of the tears. Lena turned around.

"Don't cry. At least not before the serial killer kills me."

Sam chuckled through the tears and hugged her best friend.

"Here's to new beginnings, Lee."

Now that she was standing behind the closed door in front of the aisle, she could hear her heart drumming in her ears.

"It's time."

She walked down the aisle with her hand almost painfully linked with her best friend. This was it. This was the new beginning, or maybe the end.

"All the best."

Sam whispered in her ear. That's when Lena saw a hand offered in front of her and she looked up.

To say she was dumbstruck would be the understatement of the century. A blonde with the bluest eyes she has seen and a charming smile was standing there offering her a hand. She almost didn't seem real. Lena gently placed her hand in the blonde's and let herself pull a little bit towards the stage.

"You are mesmerizing."

Were the first words she heard. She smiled and took a moment to admire the person she was going to marry. The blonde was standing there with a smile, wearing a tight-fitting black tux, she was slightly taller than Lena, and were those muscles she could see the outline of? Hot.

"Thanks. You are not so shabby yourself."

The girl giggled at that and Lena was sure she just met the perfect being if it ever existed.

"Also, since we are meeting for the first time, it's nice to see you. Lena Luthor."

She offered her hand for a handshake. Kara gently took it in hers and kissed on the back of it.
