Soo Yeon had been at the counter for five minutes when a familiar face walked up to her.
"Working late?"
"Su Jung Ssi, are you stalking me?"
"I've been here since earlier, and I'm not stalking you."
"What will you have?"
"A waffle and a Yuzu Cha. You look pale. Are you okay, Soo Yeon?" Su Jung asked.
"괜찮아" [qwenchana=I'm okay] Soo Yeon said as she prepared his order.
When she returned to the counter, she found Lee Hyun Gu standing behind Su Jung, with his arms crossed, tapping his feet in impatience. He wore dark glasses and a black baseball cap, but his star profile gave him away.
"Ya, the service is sure to slow here. Are you new? If you want to keep your job you better get in the 빨리빨리 [palri-palri=quick] mode," Hyun Gu said exasperated.
"Do you have a problem? Sir," said Su Jung butting in the conversation.
"Excuse me, are you the manager? Do you know who I am?" Lee Hyun Gu retorted.
"Su Jung, please excuse my friend. Can I take your order, Sir?" Soo Yeon said with a smile.
"Oh, I see namja chingu. Aren't you a bit possessive to be at your girl's workplace?"
Su Jung was embarrassed as he prepared his reply Soo Yeon came back.
"He isn't my boyfriend, [그냥남사친 |kunyang namsajin= simply a boy who's a friend]."
"Wa doesn't look like it," Hyun Gu replied while looking at Su Jung with a don't-lie-you-are-crazy-about-her stare.
The idol's words made Su Jung go and sit down.
Lee Hyun took his order and went to sit down. The bodyguard sat at the table behind him, and the cop sat at a table close to the entrance. Soo Yeon thought it was a blessing. His presence at the CNH made it easier to surveil him.
And also, the CNH café was one of those places where everyone was someone. Nobody lowly fangirled in front of an idol's presents. Lee Hyun Gu knew it, and so he came as soon as his manager left. It was a small appearance, but it was enough to let fans know he was alive and well. He pretended not to notice the few flashes in his direction, posing naturally for clichés, which appeared authentic as if he was unaware they were being taken.
Lee Hyun Gu's default as an idol was his capricious nature; he moaned like an Ahjumma and had mood swings like a girl during the wrong time of the month.
Su Jung left reminding Soo Yeon their double date with Min Ha and her boyfriend. The girl had hoped he would forget. It was in 2 days, and Soo Yeon still had to follow the Lee Hyun Gu. Without forgetting all the chamber requests, she had pending. Juggling with both lives wasn't easy, but the most frustrating thing for the teenage girl as she didn't appreciate either one. Both lives sucked to the max.
How would she have been if her father and brother were alive?
Life would be better. Even if Soo Yeon had trials to overcome, she would be better off. Of course, her encounter with Jared would be erased, but in the balance which weighed the circumstances and sentiments, it would be a slight loss. Min Ha, Su Jung, Soo Yeon would quickly abandon and trade them if it meant getting back her life and family.
Was it a wrong thought? She barely knew them. Soo Yeon thought as she wiped the tables close to the one where Hyun Gu sat. He was on the phone. The CNH employee approached to hear the conversation.
"No, I won't go home. What you are doing is illegal. —You know you can't lock someone up in their house. —waé, can't I let a few fans take discreet pics and have them downloaded on Instagram? I look good anyhow. —Oh, the stalker will know where I am. 알았어,알았어 [arasseo=okay, I understand] 네 [nae=yes]."
Hyun Gu hung up, "ah-aish," the idol said before getting up. "Yo, bodyguar-dé, we're leaving," he said to the bodyguard who was busy with an online game.
"Yo, haksaeng [student], is your possessive boyfriend gone?" The star asked Hye Mi.
"He isn't my boyfriend."
"조심하세요 [jo shim hasaeyo=be careful], don't make the man wait too long, don't mess with his feelings you'll regret it. 안녕 [bye]Park Soo Yeon Ssi," Hyun Gu said as he put on his glasses to leave in a swaggy suave attitude.
As far as first impressions went, Lee Hyun Gu didn't leave Soo Yeon with a bad one. The man was a diva for sure, but it seemed like the diva had a heart. What nonsense did he say about making a man wait? The comment came across as advice and not a warning.
Lee Hyun Gu's attitude made Soo Yeon wonder what reason ended his relationship with the late Song Hi.
Soo Yeon looked at her watch, her shift was over, but her second job was beginning. She changed and headed back to Lee Hyun Gu's place.
While she ate her cup of hot ramyeon in the CU across the street from the actor's house, Soo Yeon reflected. Who could the stalker be?
A simple fan wouldn't be able to get close to Lee Hyun Gu's mailbox. You needed codes to get in his building; most people who lived there were rich and didn't care less about the idol.
Lee Hyun Gu, being grounded, would push the stalker to commit an error forcibly. What mattered now was when this would occur, thought Soo Yeon as she watched another delivery man enter the star's building.
Did every rich person eat deliveries? The number of motorbikes stopping there impressed the girl. And that's when it hit her; delivery services had access. This was the most natural way; the psycho could pretend to be one.
Sited on the ledge of the building with her binoculars, Soo Yeon sent a message to FIXXIT on LINE:
LazyGirL14125: Sleeping?
F*XX*T: NEVER FOR YOU.
LazyGirL14125: I'm at a friend's house.
Can you tell me what the best food delivery service is in the area?
F*XX*T: ANY PREFERENCE?
LazyGirL14125: Nope.
Soo Yeon could have done it herself, but her fingers were numb from the cold, and it will only take FIXXIT a few minutes. As expected, FIXXIT anticipated and prepared data on all the delivery services from international carriers to online shopping delivery services. It would take the girl a long time to look into the profiles. So FIXXIT tried to cross delivery dates with those where Lee Hyun Gu received letters or parcels.
The police had come to the same conclusion, but they couldn't find a suspect for most were men and didn't fit the profile, which was a woman.
Hi,
Sorry, I was unable to publish NETIZEN though I have the chapters.
I've been having trouble publishing because of a bug I created when I wrote the story. Due to the text separators I choose at the time, there are huge issues with word count and multilayering.
It took me three days to contour everything, and I had to take out all the inserted messages and music on this chapter for it to work.
