"It's beautiful, Jun Ho," Ga Eun said in tears.
"Don't cry; you'll look like a widowed ahjumma if your mascara runs."
"Halmoni," moaned the woman who also laughed at her grandmother's joke while Hye Ra gulped down another glass of champagne, taking advantage of the distraction.
They discussed dates and other arrangements before ending the meal. Everyone entered their car Kwon Jin walked up to Jun Ho, slipping a USB key in Jun Ho's jacket pocket.
"Sugeot, you did well tonight, brother," whispered Kwon Jin in his ear.
Jun Ho pursed his lips.
Kwon Jin tapped on his nervous system, but he had finally gotten what he wanted.
The conversation he had with Lee Rim's aggressor Byeon Tae Won still played in his mind. Marc Joubert was behind NB, and he was Kwon Jin's best friend. Was it possible for Kwon Jin to be unaware of his friend's activities?
Marc Joubert wasn't Korean; to have such an extensive network, he needed support from the locals who wouldn't drink a foreigner's kind words. Only an influential Korean could help him make the existing drug-dealing system swallow the pill of his Nirvana Blue project.
Kwon Jin had many defaults, but he wasn't a criminal thought Jun Ho shrugging off the idea, almost feeling ashamed of suspecting his future brother-in-law. What mattered at that instant was having Seo Gwan Gi's file in his possession.
It was almost Christmas, and Jun Ho was officially four months away from his wedding.

In the meantime, another type of engagement was taking place.
"Soo Yeon, are you avoiding me?"
"Isn't obvious."
"Is it because of a kiss?"
Soo Yeon looked at Su Jung. As usual, he looked like a work of art. The girl just wanted to box his head into the wall for being so perfect.
"Su Jungー."
"솔찍히 [Honestly] say it, don't you like me, I mean you don't like me?"
The boy stood in front of Soo Yeon, blocking her way; Soo Yeon dodged and carried on walking.
"Su Jung, Iー."
"Stop, I think I'm dying, oh my heart, if you are going to reject me-."
"Su Jung, I like you, butー."
Once again, Su Jung leaped in front of her with the widest of grins.
"Stop. Can you just repeat that sentence?"
"죽을래?" [jugulae= Do you want to die]
"I'm sorry, 계속 말해줘," [please, repeat]
"I like you, but I'm not ready for a relationship," Soo Yeon replied.
She stared at her shoes, embarrassed by her statement. It was true she liked Su Jung. The boy had more than one quality. He was over-qualified for her, she thought.
"I'm good; I can wait. You said you liked me. I can live with that," Su Jung said with a smile.
"You are crazy," Soo Yeon said.
"Yeah, about you," The boy replied, leaning to kiss Soo Yeon on the cheek.
If Soo Yeon's life wasn't what it was, Su Jung was the type of boy she would have liked her brother and father to meet, but that was not a path she could take.
London, Lanesborough Hotel Hyde Park
The slight tap on the door surprised Kim Sae Ha; the woman decided to spend Christmas in the English capital. Soo Yeon's birthday was a day away, and she wondered how her daughter was. She knew via Mr. Nim, the chauffeur Soo Yeon lived well and went to a good school.
What hurt her was to think Soo Yeon preferred to live alone. It was true that when they were together, they seemed to self-destruct, seeing each other pain.
Sae Ha got up to open the door, thinking it was room service, only to find a blonde boy with green lenses who she recognized right away.
"Jared."
"Mrs. Kim, I think it's time for you to tell Hye Mi the truth."
