FIXXIT was always cautious, but lately, he was like a mother hen with her. It was annoying, but at the same time, it was kind of comforting to think someone worried about her.

Soo wondered what type of person FIXXIT was in life. Sometimes she imagined it was Jared, watching over her from a distance. If so, it would explain many things; technically, he was more skillful than her. NETIZEN's entire phantom act relied on FIXXIT's encoding. An incoming call from a foreign country interrupted Soo Yeon's reflection.

There was only one person in the world capable of calling her at such a time.

Soo Yeon didn't want to accept the call, but she knew it wouldn't stop.

"Eomma."

"Aga."

"I'm not a baby anymore."

"Why don't you call me? I'm always worried about you, I—"

"I'm okay, mom."

Sae Ha felt guilty about living abroad, leaving her daughter to struggle alone. Soo Yeon avoided talking to her, especially since they always ended evoking old and painful memories.

"It's almost your birthday, don't you want to come here? Christmas is near. You can miss a few days of school."

"No, I can't; I won't celebrate."

"Soo Yeon-a, I miss you."

"Bye, mom."

Soo Yeon couldn't help it. Every time she spoke to her mother, anger overwhelmed her. It frustrated her to watch her mother let depression consume her. Kim Sae Ha was weak; she gave in so quickly and was unable to surface. Soo Yeon's emotions boiled and pushed her to want to finish the game as soon as possible. She was like a Prince on a quest to save her damsel of a mother from the donjon. Only the truth would free them; Soo Yeon had to find the truth.

Seoul, Itaewon-dong

The following day Kwon Jin headed for a Sunday brunch with senator Kang, and he was surprised to meet Jun Ho coming home at 11 am as he arrived in front of the Kang's mansion.

"I hope they pay you over time," Kwon Jin said, teasing Jun Ho.

"Nope."

"Hard night?"

"The worst."

"Aren't you supposed to meet Ga Eun tonight?"

With all the cases he had to work on, Jun Ho had pushed back their date, now in front of Kwon Jin, he didn't see himself calling to cancel again even though he dreamt of sleeping.

"Oh, I almost forgot, yes, we are having dinner together."

"Good."

"Kwon Jin about the files—."

"I haven't forgotten, but it's trickier than excepted since we're not going through legal procedures," Kwon Jin said as they entered the Kang's mansion. Don't worry; I'll have them for you."

"Thank you, Kwon Jin," Jun Ho said, gasping as if he spoke on his last breath.

"Will you be having brunch with us?" Asked Kang Baek Hyun to his son as they entered the living room.

"Eh, abeoji—."

"Jun Ho has a date with Ga Eun tonight. I think we can accord him some beauty sleep since he had a rough night," Kwon Jin said, tapping Jun Ho on the shoulder.

"Is that so? They kept you up all night because of the idiot who jumped in front of a speeding taxi." the senator snorted.

"Dad, he wasn't an idiot, and he's dead so—."
