Seoul, Coex big conference hall
Who would have imagined it would come to this. Soo Yeon hesitated, yet she had to think fast. She wanted to take both of them down, but she knew someone would stop her before. Soo Yeon loathed them both; they caused so much hurt. Victims cried, and there two men stood, proud and grinning at the world as though all was a pebble in their hand.
Soo Yeon sat a few rows away from the stage; her view was unobstructed.
The deed she was about to commit wasn't a trick Jared taught her.
The young woman had learned on her own, she wasn't sure whether she would hit the right spot, but Soo Yeon hoped the grief of all the victims would accompany the bullets she was about to lounge in their hearts.
Baek Hyun finally stepped to the front stage. Ready for his speech after being showered with applause by a public who now sat down. Soo Yeon remained standing; she moved to the center of the aisle and advanced. It was like a movie where everything seems played in slow motion when the action takes a split second.
The bodyguards ran, people ducked and screamed as Soo Yeon pointed her gun. Kwon Jin's eyes widened when he realized who she targeted as Soo Yeon aimed and shot.
The first bullet left quickly, followed by the second. The deafening sound of the gunshots echoed in the auditorium, which rumbled with cries. In an instant, Soo Yeon was covered by what she thought was a blanket. Never had she felt such a heavyweight. She looked in horror at what covered her.
With Jared, she learned one of the Lost Boys mottos: No pain, No blood.
The boys fought wars behind their screens; they avoided bloodshed by all means. They took from the rich and gave to the poor and notified citizens of the conspiracies, but they never killed.
Soo Yeon crossed the line; even Jared couldn't save her now, but she couldn't let it be. These monsters destroyed so many lives as they rigged to climb to the country's highest seats.
The young woman couldn't leave South Korea in their hands even if it meant losing her life, but Soo Yeon had not expected this scenario. A life for a life, but not the one of the person who crumbled before her.
"JUN HO," she yelled.
The man slowly pulled the gun from her hands.
"괜찮아 [Qwenchana=it's okay] Hye My-ah," Jun Ho said as he battled to speak, heaving under the pain, "괜찮아," he repeated holding both sides of her head.
" 왜 [wae=why], wae? Jun Ho wae?" Soo, Yeon cried.
"I can't let you become one of them," he said as he coughed up blood, "you look like an angel, Hye My-ah, how come you are so beautiful?"
"Andé jun ho,일어나세 [ilreo an sae yo=wake up] andé, stop talking," Soo Yeon said aware that the effort was killing him. The security guards dragged her away from Jun Ho's body.
Guards evacuated Kang Baek Hyun and Hong Kwon Jin.
The police came and took Soo Yeon to Gangnam's police station; Soo Yeon had failed, and so she threw herself about like an animal in the car.
She prayed they would execute her; she wanted to die for having left the monsters live and shooting Jun Ho. If he were dead, she would en end her life herself.
Seoul, Gangnam Police Station
TV channel vans paved the way to the police station, and journalists scream reached out to anyone going in or out of the building. Soo Yeon got the impression of living the remake of the shoe incident in middle school. The camera flashes tried to capture her face, which she let the police try to cover.
