So, there was some confusion on what Niall made Harry. It’s called a Powder Monkey- usually a young boy that runs between the bottom deck and the floor that they have the cannons during a battle, bringing the gunpowder.

With the news, the whole crew have lifted spirits. They all have hope again, and it was a refreshing thing to see. I loved that my crew was happy and hopeful again, and that the sea seemed to be matching their mood. I watched Zayn and Harry talking, watched as Harry threw his head back and laughed, clapping his hands and Zayn just smirked playfully in amusement. I couldn’t help but smile at the sound, and at the sight, a strange warmth filling me. I shook it off, smiling widely at Zayn when he glanced over. He smiled back, happiness practically radiating off of him. Harry followed his gaze, looking at me too. He smiled shyly and I laughed, watching as he sent me a little nervous wave- one I returned. He then stood a bit straighter, and smiled a bit bigger, seemingly ignoring the comment Zayn had shot at him- which caused him to hit him in the arm. I chuckled lightly, shaking my head at the pair before I turned and walked up the steps.

It was time to see where we needed to go to stop this blasted curse.

I gently placed the key down next to the map, looking over the thing as a whole, trying to pinpoint exact locations and measurements. With each little shape or inconspicuous marking on the map, a name was given on the key. I matched them all up, pinpointing where we were and how we would reach the place we thought of as only a faraway dream up until now. The inscription on the side still puzzled me, and I still couldn’t figure out what it meant.

Magnis amet intraveritis interrogate, et duc exercitum in circulis, frusta aperire ostium clausum. Sed cave, Periculum latet in omni tribulatione. What did that even mean? I sighed in frustration, hating that I could be letting the crew down again because I couldn’t make out what a couple words meant. Because apparently I can’t read a map properly, because I had no idea what the small circled areas meant either. I was sure it would be explained in that stupid phrase I couldn’t make out, but I wouldn’t know because I didn’t speak whatever language this was.

“Is everything alright?” A curious voice asked from behind me and I sighed in discontent again, shaking my head no. “Well, what’s wrong? What can I do to help?” Harry asked, stepping up next to me, while watching me with concerned eyes. He glanced at the map on the table, his eyebrows furrowing.

“I can’t read what it says right here.” I mumbled quietly, pointing to the writing around the frayed edges of the map.

“Is- is this a treasure map? I mean don’t you have enough gold?” He questioned, examining it again.

“It’s complicated. It’s not the gold we’re after. Can you read it or what?” I questioned, tired of the questions already. He didn’t need to worry about what we would find. He wouldn’t have understood.

“I can read it, but in return you have to tell me what is so important that you guys are going through so much trouble for it.” He stated and I nodded, just extremely glad that he knew what it said. “It says: It takes a key to enter, find the pieces to open the lock, the circles lead the way. But beware, danger lurks at every turn. At least, that’s the rough translation. Your turn.” He insisted and I nodded happily. There was hope after all.
