"It's good to see you, Jace" a boy I haven't seen before greets my boyfriend.
"You too Ben. I'm glad you came" Jace says, hugging his old friend. "This is my girlfriend, Mila" he adds, placing his hand on my lower back.
Ben's eyes grow bigger. "Girlfriend? Are you sure you're the right Jace Evans?" he jokes, smiling at me in the process.
I smile back at him wearily. I'm happy to meet him, but comments like that always dampen my mood for just a split second. No one wants to hear about all the girls their boyfriend has been with.
"Yeah, it's been a long time man. A lot has changed" Jace smirks back at him playfully.
"Pleasure to meet you" Ben directs towards me, almost shouting over the loud music. The party at yet another frat house is already in full motion. Austin, Bree, Sarah, Jace and I got arrived a little early and we're happy that Ben could meet us here.
Ben looks like a great guy. His style is similar to Jace's and Austin's, but instead of a little longer hair he wears his hair pretty short. He's not bald, but he's close to it. I think it's called a 3mm hair cut, but I'm not sure. "You too, Ben" I say back to him.
"Austin! Good to see you too man" Ben directs to him now, before introducing himself to everybody else. Soon after, we're ready to get the evening started.
"Alright, what can I get everybody to drink?" Jace slightly shouts into the round. Everyone lets Jace know and Austin agrees to help him carry all the beverages. "We'll be right back. Are you alright?" Jace directs towards me.
When we got here I already had a little panic episode from all the people, the loud music and the thick air. I feel slightly better now, so I nod my head back at Jace.
"I got her, you go" Bree says sweetly, placing her tiny arm around me. I'm so grateful for her, but I can't help but feel like a child when she says that. I'm a grown up woman and people have to watch me like I'm a toddler. It's not the best feeling, but I brush it off quickly, knowing that they just want me to feel safe.
"Good job, Mila. Ben looks amazing, like he's made for Sarah" Bree says towards me quietly, once the boys have disappeared. I look over to the two of them, already chatting along like they've known each other for a very long time.
"Thanks. I had a great feeling when Jace mentioned him already" I smirk back at her. "How are you, how are things with Austin?"
"They're great. I've actually been meaning to tell you something, and I'm just going to go for it... Austin wants me to move in" she squeals, doing a tiny jump into the air.
"Are you serious?" I squeal along with her. "I'm so extremely happy for you Bree" I add, embracing her in a hug. Normally I'd be worried about having to live alone, but I basically live at Jace's already. That doesn't mean I'm officially moved in, of course, but Jace would never let me be alone in the dorm room because of Derek.
