After ten minutes, we arrive in the parking lot of our campus

After ten minutes, we arrive in the parking lot of our campus. "So..." I stretch out. "Did you want me to come back with you or... what did you have in mind?" I ask Jace awkwardly.

He smirks at me. "Did I ever tell you you're cute when you're so awkward?" he says. My cheeks turn red.

"Thanks for pointing that out" I say and nudge him.

"You don't have to be that way around me babe, you should know that by now" he says. "Come back to my place" he decides for me.

I nod my head at him slowly. "I'll go grab my bag, you can stay in the car if you want" I say, opening the door.

"No way, it's dark out. I'm coming with you" he says, and is already out the door. We make our way over and quickly arrive in front of my room.

I unlock the door to see Bree laying on her bed. I'm surprised that she's home for a change. "Bree! I didn't know you were here" I say, opening the door just a little.

"Hey girl, what's up! I'm practically out the door, nice to see you though!" she says, while curling her hair. I see that she's decent and fully open the door, walking in with Jace.

"How was your week..." she says, but stops once he sees the boy entering our room. "Good I see" she laughs and comes up to us. "Good to see you again, Jace" she says, shaking Jace's hand.

"The girl making Austin act like such a pussy lately" he says playfully. I give Jace a smack on his chest. "Bree. Good to see you too" he adds and nods back at her.

She got the joke and is laughing with him. I'm glad they get along, I wouldn't want them hating each other since we're dating now. It feels weird to even think about it. I really want to tell Bree everything, but with Jace being here, it's just not the right time.

"I can't help it, I'm awesome" Bree says, while finishing getting ready. Jace grins once again. "What are you guys up to?"

"I'm just here to grab my bag for classes tomorrow. What about you?" I ask her, spotting my bag and filling it with everything I need for tomorrow. Jace is getting comfortable on my bed, scrolling away on his phone.

"Austin and I are going out to eat" she beams.

Jace pretends like he's about to throw up. "Jace" I say warningly, while Bree throws the nearest item she can find in his direction. "Sounds amazing" I tell her from the bottom of my heart.

"You guys should totally meet sometime!" Bree says. "Why don't the two of you come with us?" she offers excitedly.

"We can't, sorry" Jace answers for me right away. I look at him gratefully. I would have loved to meet Austin properly, but this day was so exhausting. My social battery is nearly empty. Today it was pretty much non existing anyway.

Bree looks at me next. "We had a long day, but raincheck? I'd love to meet Austin" I answer, zipping my bag shut.

"No worries, that sounds good" Bree says, packing up too. "Well, he's here. I guess I'll see you guys around then" she says, grabbing her purse and jacket. She comes over and embraces me in a hug, which I return. "Bye Mila, bye jerk" she grins at Jace playfully. Jace raises an eyebrow back at her. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" she yells and closes the door behind her.

"We already did!" Jace shouts back grinning.

"Jace!" I say warningly once again. I look towards the door to see if she's coming back. "You're lucky she didn't hear that" I tell him crossing my arms.

"Why? Are you trying to keep this a secret?" he says smirking.

"What? No. I'll tell her everything. Just not today, when everything's so... rushed" I explain.

Jace's face turns serious again. "Everything?" he asks me, and I know exactly what he means. I think about it for a moment. Am I going to tell Bree what he did? On one side it might be nice to talk to someone about it, but then Bree's opinion of Jace would change completely, while we've worked everything out already.

"No. I wouldn't do that. That's between you and me" I tell him honestly.

Jace grabs my hand and pulls me onto his lap gratefully. "It's up to you" he says, grabbing my face gently and pressing a kiss onto my lips. "Are you okay with not going out with them tonight?"

"Yeah. I need a quiet night. Thank you for thinking of that" I answer, stroking his cheek with my hand softly.

"Oh, it was totally selfish. I want you to myself tonight" he smirks at me.

"That's also fine with me" I laugh back at him.

"Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah, let's go" I say and get up from his lap. Jace grabs my bag before I can react, and we're off to the parking lot to go back to his apartment. We arrive at Jace's car quickly. "So, what's Austin like? Is he as perky as Bree?" I ask Jace. He laughs.

"Not nearly. He's pretty quiet actually, but a cool guy once you get to know him. Kind of like you" he smirks at me.

"Funny" I answer back, and we're on our way. Jace starts the engine. "Can I play some music?" I ask him, thinking I would have to convince him.

"Sure, connect your phone" Jace agrees. I quickly do just that, and start playing some of Jeremy Zucker's new songs.

"This is the artist I've been trying to get tickets to by the way" I explain to him, trying to show him more of me and what I like.

He listens for a while. "Sounds boring" he says all serious. I look at him with shock in my eyes. "I'm kidding" he laughs.

"Did you eat a clown today?" I say crossing my arms. "Stop making fun of me."

"Alright alright. It sounds okay. Better?" he says, laying his hand on my thigh, as always.

"Better" I tell him and lay my hand over his. For the rest of the car drive, the two of us are silent. The soft, quiet music is very calming and I can almost feel my eyes close shut. The next time I wake up, I hear muffled voices from across the room. I quickly check my phone to look at the time. Two in the morning. How did I land in Jace's bed? Did I fall asleep in the car?  He must have carried me upstairs and changed me into something comfortable. Guess I was pretty out of it, after the day we had.

I feel around the bed, looking for Jace, but I can't find him anywhere. "Jace?" I mumble, rubbing my eyes, trying to wake up a little.

"I'm here" he says quietly from the kitchen. "Yeah, guess I'll be there in five. Next time don't fucking wake me, dumbass" he says into his phone, hanging up on the other person.  I'm so sleepy that I can't even put the pieces together. "Sorry for waking you" Jace whispers as he approaches the bed.

"Come here" I say needy, reaching out my arms to him like a child. I'm cold and need him back in bed with me. I feel so tired, I can barely keep my eyes open.

"I have to head out, but I'll be back as fast as I can" Jace whispers quietly.

What? "Where are you going?" I ask, just as quiet as him.

"Client called. I need to go" Jace answers, grabbing a sweatshirt to pull it over his head.

"At two in the morning?" I say, pouting unwillingly.

"Yeah. Look, I'll be fifteen minutes tops, he's right around the corner. Will you be okay here all by yourself?" he asks me, lightly stroking my leg over the blanket.

I feel a knot tying in my stomach. Do I feel comfortable with him going out to sell drugs at night? No. But will I be okay here by myself for fifteen minutes? Probably. So I nod my head. "Yeah. But hurry, I'm cold" I mumble into my pillow.

Jace chuckles. "I will. Close your eyes" he says, adding a kiss on my head. I hear the door close shut and before I know it, I'm back in dream land.
