. . .

I was surprised. Linsey knew I was eavesdropping? But how? Did Robin tell her? Would Robin tell her?

. . .

Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit. "You were?" I asked playing dumb. Linsey frowned at me. "I saw your backpack, don't play dumb." Stupid! I mentally facepalm myself. "Are you sure it's mine?" I asked nervously. "Why so nervous?" Linsey asked with a sweet smile. "Don't want to end up like how you do in Minecraft, now do we?"

I looked at Robin with a pleading face. Robin was just calmly watching, she seemed kind of bored actually. "Hey!" Linsey yelled at me. "Don't look at Robin for help." She said angrily. "Why do you need help anyway?" She asked in her nice voice. "Because you keep switching around." Robin sighed.

"What?" Lindsey asked surprised. "Just stick to one side." Robin sighed again. Linsey nodded her head. "So, Alex." She smiled keeping her cool. "You heard how mean Richard was to me right? He even threatened me." She said sadly.

"Well, you were kind of mean to." I said. "W-what? No, I wasn't." She said acting surprised. I sighed. "Here you are telling me not to lie. And you lie to Richard." I shake my head. Robin chuckles to herself. "Alex isn't wrong you know?" She looks at Linsey smiling.

"W-well, that was because, uh." Linsey trips over her words. "Well, I wasn't the one eavesdropping." She says finding her words again. "And he wasn't the one lying." "Well, you are too." "Nah, I know I eavesdropped, and I'm admitting it. And are you going to admit you lied to Richard?" "No, because I didn't." Linsey says crossing her arms.

"Linsey, you've been caught." Robin says to Linsey smiling. "Oh yeah? Well, what about you? You were a part of it too." Lindsey says to Robin. "Trying to drag me down with you? Tisk, tisk." Robin shakes her head. "What?! Now your lying to?!"

"I'm not, I'm just saying, why are you trying to bring me down with you?" Robin glares down at Linsey who simply glares back. Their glares are so intense I have to take a step backward. Both twins snap their heads at me. "Where are you going?" They ask at the same time. "Home?"

"That's a fucking bullshit excuse," Linsey says. "Oh is that so? Sorry to keep you waiting." Robin says. They both walk up towards me. "But if you tell anyone-" "-or even spread your own rumor-" "-there will be hell to pay." They say the last part at the same time. "Maybe we should let you tell someone, just so I can beat you up myself." Linsey says. "We won't tell Hanna what happened, as long as you don't tell anyone, got it?" Robin askes me. "G-got it."

. . .

I run outside where I find Richard and Karter waiting. "Sorry to keep you guys waiting." I say running up to them. "It's ok." Karter says. "Yeah, what took so long?" Richard askes raising an eyebrow. "A teacher needed to talk to me." I lie. "You ok?" Karter askes looking at me concerned. "Yeah, just homework, no biggie." I say.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" I ask walking ahead of them and leaving the school grounds. "We were waiting for you." Richard says. "Well I'm here, so let's go." I say leading the Way to Jamie's house. I look at the school one last time as we walk away. Only to see Linsey and Robin on the roof watching me walk away. Not creepy at all...

. . .

Richard knocks on the door. "Anyone home?" Jamie's brother opens the door. I hug my backpack close to my chest, Karter glasses at me. "Oh, your Jamie's friend right?" He asked. "Yeah we are, is Jamie home?" Richard asked.

"Nah, she not home yet, but you can wait in her room I don't care." Ethan says opening the door to let us in. "Thanks." Richard says walking in first. Me and Karter follow behind him nodding our heads.

We go up to Jamie's room to see she's not really in there. "Where is she?" I ask sitting on the floor. "How would I know?" Richard sighed also sitting on the floor followed by Karter. "I mean, wasn't she not supposed to leave the house at all? I thought her mom was kind of overprotective..." Richard says. "Maybe they went out or something?" I suggest.

"I-I don't think so..." Karter says. "Why not?" I ask. "Well, what Richard said, her mom was all worried about her going out. She was supposed to go back to school today, then all of a sudden she can't. If her mom thought she needed another day off, going off of how protective she is, I don't think she would let Jamie go out at all. She might have snuck out but... I'm not sure." Karter snapped out of it when they see me and Richard starting at them. "O-oh, anyway, it was just an idea..." Karter mumbles.

"You're not wrong tho." Richard says thinking about what Karter said. "Yeah, you've got a point. Nice one." I say ruffling Karter's har.

"Well, since Jamie isn't here yet." Richard says pulling something out of his backpack. "Let's actually do some work." He slams his homework down on the floor. "Really? Do we have to?" I wine. "Yes, and Jamie isn't here to stop me." Richard says happily. "You care that much?" I ask. "Yes." "Fineee." I groan pulling out my homework

. . .

The door to Jamie's house opens. "Welcome home Jam-ie!" "I said stop calling me that Eat-an!" "Yous isn't even as good as mine!" Someone runs up the stairs."Fuck you!" The room to Jamie's room slams open. "Kids language!" "Shit!" Both Jamie and Ethan yell. Then Jamie's door is slammed closed again.

Jamie freezes when she turned around to see, me, Richard, and Karter, all sitting on her bedroom floor am doing homework. I'm not sure if she was more surprised to see us, or us doing homework.

Jamie leaves the room silently closing the door before running downstairs. "Why didn't you tell me they were here?!" "Because you ran past me!" "Ugh!" someone was running back up the stairs. "Like you are now!" Jamie quietly enters her room and silently closes the door.

Jamie sits in front of us and we put our homework away. "Jamie?" I ask. "Where were you? Weren't you supposed to be resting or something?" Richard asked upset. "Why do you have a backpack?" Karter asks quieter than Richard. We all fall silent

Jamie flinches. She takes off her backpack looking at it. "Uh." She runs to her closet and throws it in there then sits in front of us again. "You know we saw that right?" Richard asked. Jamie nods her head. "Jamie..." I say concerned. "What happened? Are you ok?" Jamie looks down at the carpet sadly.

"I changed schools."
