. . .

Richard punched Linsey in the arm that was covering her stomach while she laughed. She stopped laughing stood up straight. She let her left arm fall to her side while she looked at her right one.

.   .   .

"Huh." Linsey said tilting her head looking closely at her forearm. "You actually made a small bruise." She flipped her arm around to show Richard. Richard leaned forward a bit squinting his eyes trying to see. Then his face was met with a fist.

Richard stumbled back a bit grabbing his nose. "Your just lucky I punched you with my left arm." Lindsey snarled at Richard. They both started glaring at each other. "If it's a fight you want, bring it on." Lindsey said spreading out her feet. Richard did a similar thing holding up his fists. "Give. Me. The. Key."

. . .

Richard quickly ran over to where he last saw Alex. He ran next to Alex who was ok the floor. "Here." Richard said dropping the keys in front of Alex. "Thanks!" Alex yells quickly grabbing the keys.

Richard leans his body against the wall finally resting. He holds his side with one hand and the other he places on the wall, feeling the cold paint.

The door to the closet opens and Alex runs in. Richard tries to look in but all he can see is Alex over someone with a familiar yellow sweater. But the sweater wasn't totally yellow anymore, there were some areas of link and read on it. Richard was about to enter the room when he hears familiar running and turns his head to where he just came from to see someone rounding the corner.

The person stops when they see Richard. "I almost pulled a Jamie going down those stairs." They say clearly upset. "What are you? Hanna?" Lindsey says upset about Richard pushing her out of his way earlier. Richard walks in front of the closet door blocking Linsey from it. That's when she notices the door to the closet is open. "Already? Your no fun." She groans.

"Get out of here while you still can." Richard says. "What are you talking about? I just beat the shit out of you." She says pointing to his side where he was holding and his face with a bleeding nose. Then there's a sound of multiple people running. "I think it's you who should be getting out of here." She smiles.

Lindsey drops to her knees and starts crying.

Suddenly the door at the end of the hall is opened.

"What the heck is with all this ruckus?! You're supposed to be in class!" An angry teacher yells sticking his head out of his classroom.

Two more people enter from the other side of the hall behind Richard.

"See I told you!"

Richard turns around to see Hanna and another teacher.

"He was hitting her!" Hanna says with a worried face.

The teacher looks from Hanna to the scan in front of her.

When the teacher's eyes leave Hanna, she smiles at Richard.

"Principals office, now!" Both teachers yell at the scene before them.

. . .

I take off my sweater and press it on Karter's wounds. I shouldn't have left Karter... I hold Katter tightly Jn my arms. Now, look at them. It's just like Jamie again. Maybe if I texted earlier. Maybe if I had something to unlock the door. "A-Alex?" I hear someone croak out my name. I looked down in my arms and see Karter barely awake. "Shh, it's ok, I'm here now." I say and move their hair out of their eyes. I can still help Karter.

"Help." I wine holding Karter tightly. "Someone, please." I whisper trying to get help for Karter. I couldn't raise my voice any louder or I would end up crying. I have to stay strong for them. Tears fill my eyes as I look back down at Karter who is sheepishly smiling up at me. "Help." I say a bit louder.

I hear someone run into the closet and fall next to me. "I'm here." I hear Richard say. "Help." I turn to him and whisper. He nods his head then puts his arms under Karter trying to take them from me, but I keep a tight grip on them.

"Cmon, I know you can't care them." Richard says looking down at me sadly. I slowly nod my head deciding to not leave both their sides.

Richard carries Karter out of the room, whose eyes are barely open. I see Karter squint at the bright light of a lit-up hallway. Unlike the dark closet, they were trapped in.

When we leave the closet I see a very complicated scene in front of me. Lindsey is crying to my right with Hanna and a teacher by her side. There's also a group of kids around her. Then there's a teacher in front of us who's tapping her foot impatiently. "Took you long enough." She says then noticed that Richard is carrying an angered person. "Fine." She sighs. "Take him to the nurse." Her expression turns from annoyance back to anger. "Then it's the principal office for you." She says and points at Richard. I look at Richard confused who shrugs his shoulders.
