059 - fight with control

themes: loss of control, anxiety, inner battle

i wrestle with my lifelong opponent

but i will always be pinned down first

even as i stare them in the eyes

control always slips away from me

with the swing of a strong trained arm

i lose touch of who i was meant to be

choke the life out of my bloody throat

until i can't claw my way free again

reality slips further away from me

i'm helpless as the world falls apart

legs that once made me unstoppable

are rendered useless by iron touch

was i wrong for entering the ring

or am i blameless for what i didn't know

the loudest sobs i hear from the crowd

are from the child that feels every hit
