sorry babes! Alora has been kind of childish, and I think it's because I've been watching a lot of shows where the main character is really self-absorbed and obnoxious so that might have subconsciously translated into my writing lmao anyways, I'll try to do better :) I hope you like this chapter! <3

Alora Lin

I apparated back home, sprinting up the steps to my manor as I scrambled to get my keys out.

I gulped harshly as if that would push down the feelings that arose when Draco tried to kiss me.

Even now, when I was standing alone beside my front door, I could still feel the traces of his fingertips against my skin. My breath hitched at the thought of his lips so close to mine.

I wanted to turn around and run back to him so badly, but I knew that I shouldn't.

The key finally fit into the lock, and I hurriedly tried to push the door open only for someone's hand to clasp around mine and pull the door shut.

"Alora, please, you can't keep running away from this."

My chest heaved as I slowly circled around, meeting Draco's eyes. "We can't do this, Draco. Whatever it is... We need to leave it in the past."

"But I can't leave it in the past," he exclaimed, taking a step closer and resting his hands on my bare arms. "Don't you get it? I'm still in love with you."

I gaped up at him. My head started spinning when I heard him utter the word "love."

I shook my head and tried to pry his hands off of my arms, "No, you're not. You're just in love with the idea of me. We were each other's first love. Of course it's going to be hard to let that go–"

"No," he clenched his jaw, releasing his hands from my grip so that they could rest at the base of my neck. "I've had five years to get over you, but I still haven't. I have spent everyday regretting how badly I fucked up what we had."

"Well, clearly you haven't learned your lesson considering you tried to poison my fiancé!" I raised my voice.

"I-I know. I'm sorry. I was wrong," he breathed out, gazing into my eyes in hopes of seeking some forgiveness. "Just give me another chance."

"This'll be the what? Third? Fourth chance?" I curled my lips in disgust. "There are only so many chances I can give before I lose trust in you for good."

"Alora–"

"You know, you're all talk right now, but I don't see you doing anything to show me that you actually care."

"Are you joking?" he scoffed, distancing himself by taking a few steps back. "I showed you how much you meant to me back when we were in school, but all you wanted was for me to learn how to express myself! Well, guess what? I've been spent all these years learning how to be more vulnerable and open, and I did it for you. Now you want me to go back to how I was?"

"This isn't the same thing, Draco! You're still dating Astoria, and you tried to kill my fiancé. Neither of those add up to 'I love you,'" I spat at him, gesturing air quotes.

"Oh yeah? Then what exactly do you want me to do?"

My breaths came out heavy and ragged. I was fuming with anger. My fingers were curled up into fists, and my nails dug into the palm of my hands.

"Fucking speak!" he shouted, walking closer, which forced me to stumble backwards until my back hit the door. "I can never seem to do anything right, so tell me. What do I have to do to prove that I'm still in love with you?"
