Chapter 37

"You may take your seat, Mr. Vergara."

I took a seat the moment that my prof allowed me to. I felt satisfied with my answer and I can see it too from my professor. Lagi naman namin 'tong ginagawa, I'm getting used to it. This is just another tiring day for me. After my class, I went to my college friends. We went to a bar.

"Gio! Nandito na pala si Gio!" Jack stood up and tapped my shoulder when he saw me. Nandoon na sila ngayon sa isang table. Hindi rin naman ako magtatagal dahil magre-review pa ako at pupuntahan ko pa si Dad sa ospital.

Umupo ako sa upuan sa table. "Balita?"

"Sayo, ano ang balita?" tanong ni Niko. "Napormahan mo na ba 'yung kaklase mong maganda?" Nakipag-apir pa siya kay Jack.

"Gago, hindi ko nga type 'yon." I shook my head. I knew it. They will just bring up about my classmate, Calynn.

"Ganda noon, eh. Ano? Kinakalawang na, Gio?" dagdag pa ni Jack.

"She has a boyfriend." I shortly said before drinking a tequila. Hindi ko rin naman talaga gusto si Calynn, nagandahan ko siya noong una, oo. Pero noong nalaman kong may boyfriend, tinigilan ko na rin. I just want to be her friend, silang dalawa ni Lisa. Karamihan sa mga kaibigan ko ay lalaki, maybe it's about time to change that.

"So, kung wala? Liligawan mo?" Jack smirked.

"No," I replied. "Wala akong balak mag-girlfriend." sabi ko tapos kumagat na lang ako sa lemon ko. Kinuha ko 'yung phone ko sa wallet ko to check if there's an announcement but just like what I expected, there are a lot of messages from girls.

'Gio, dinner later?'

'Hi, Gio. Coffee?'

'Gio, I miss you. Come to my condo.'

'Gio, let's catch up.'

'Are you doing anything tonight?'

'Meet me, please.'

I don't know what's up to them. Una pa lang nilinaw ko na sa kanila that I don't want to commit in a serious relationship. That's not my thing. That's not for me.

Gio, where are you?

I stood up. "I'll go."

"That fast?" Niko asked.

"Yeah, nasa ospital si Dad." I tapped his shoulder. "Sige, bro." I said then nagfist-bump na kaming tatlo.

Pumunta na ako kaagad sa ospital. I really don't get my father, he doesn't want to rest, ayan tuloy, mas matagal niyang kailangang hindi magtrabaho. Pwede naman siyang magpahinga kahit isang araw, hindi ganiyan na nao-ospital pa siya.

"Dad," I greeted the moment I opened the door.

"Gio, where did you go? It's almost 9:00." He scolded me.

Umupo ako sa couch ng room niya. "It's not important, Dad. I'm here."

Wala rin namang pinagawa si Dad. Lumabas na lang ako para makabili ako ng kape sa convenience store. I need to review. Fuck the tequila! Nahihilo ako.

"Ouch!" sabi noong babae na nakabangga ko habang lumalakad ako palabas.

"Sorry, Nurse." I smirked. She's beautiful. Mestiza, her height is about 5'2. She's... my type.

As planned, I went to the convenience store to buy a cold coffee. When I looked at the girl beside me, napangisi ako. She's the nurse from the hospital.

"Shit!"

I wanted to laugh so bad. Hindi ba niya alam 'yung itsura ng condom? But she's a nurse?

Pulang-pula na kaagad siya. Hiyang-hiya na siya pero parang mas gusto ko siyang asarin. It's so weird that this is my first encounter with some girl. Usually ay landian kaagad.
