Chapter 28

"I'm fucking tired."

Humiga si Gio sa hita ko habang nandito kami sa sofa sa bahay nila tapos pinatong niya 'yung libro niya sa tiyan niya. I visited him since I feel like kaunti na lang, mababaliw na siya. I brought food for him pero hindi pa siya kumakain dahil kanina pa siya basa nang basa.

I brushed his forehead. "Fighting, baby,"

Gio looked at me and sighed. "Good thing you're here."

"Kumain ka kaya muna? Baka kaya walang pumapasok sa isip mo dahil ayaw mo kumain."

Gio smiled. Bumangon siya mula sa pagkakahiga ko at nilapag ang libro niya sa tabi niya bago buksan 'yung brown paper bag na dala ko. Binilihan ko siya ng favorite niyang Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo sa paborito niyang restaurant.

Tumayo si Gio at hinila ang kamay ko, dala ang brown paper bag tapos tinangay na niya ako sa dining nila at doon na kami kumain.

Gio was really busy on his review tapos ako naman, usual day lang lagi sa ospital. Today, birthday ni Maui and sabi ni Gio, lalabas daw kaming tatlo para maigala namin si Maureen. Ang sabi ko nga ay baka busy siya pero gusto rin daw niya mag-rest from his review.

"Hi, Ate!" Maureen greeted me when she saw me walking downstair, kumakain siya ng chocolate at nakabihis na rin siya. She's wearing a pink cute blouse and denim pants.

"Hmm, saan galing 'yan?"

She giggled and pointed Gio who's now sitting on the couch. He's wearing a white polo shirt with black lining, denim pants and white sneaker which was new because he always wears formal clothes like polo but today, he just looked carefree.

He immediately stood up when he saw me.

"Chocolates na naman?" I asked him.

Gio chuckled and kissed me on my cheeks when he finally reached us. "Huwag ka na po magalit, Ate. Minsan lang naman, eh." He looked at Maureen. "Right, baby?"

Maureen nodded aggressively. "Ate, are you mad?"

I chuckled and shook my head. "Of course not. We have to go na, Maui. Ready na lahat ng things mo?"

She nodded cutely and showed me her Louis Vuitton mini backpack, the one bought from Paris.

"Where are we going?" I asked Gio while we're walking towards his car, hawak namin parehas si Maureen. She's already 9 years old.

"Maui wants to go to amusement park, right, baby?" Gio asked Maui.

Tumango si Maureen. "Yes po, Ate."

As planned, nagpunta kami sa Enchanted Kingdom para maraming rides na masakyan si Maureen. Hindi siya sumakay sa carousel dahil big girl na raw siya.

"How about we'll go to the Ghostbusters?" tanong ni Gio.

"Aba, e 'di kayo na lang!" I exaggerated.

Gio laughed. "Fine, fine. Doon na lang tayo sa Rio Grande.

We rode the Rio Grande, 'yung iikot-iikot ka tapos nasa tubig kayo. Mukhang enjoy na enjoy si Maureen at Gio dahil nagtatawanan pa sila.

"The water is stinky, Ate." Maureen made a face while covering her nose. Natawa ako sa itsura niya.

"Well, blame your Kuya." I rolled my eyes at Gio but he just laughed and covered Maureen's nose with his handkerchief.

Sumakay din kami sa Space Shuttle and sa Anchors Away. Nang medyo gabi na, sumakay kami sa Wheel of Fate, 'yung ferris wheel dito. Mas maganda kasi ang view kapag gabi na.
