—Hattie Hernandez is known as a theater kid. It's true, yes, she belts out into songs in unexpected situations, often found wearing weird costumes with makeup on a stage and then when the show is finished, she heads out to Denny's with her friends, her friends being the theater club.
— Ricky Bowen is a skater boy who performs with his guitar from time to time, him also having the title of Nini's ex boyfriend. He's known to being intimidated by guys who wears tights, thus his dislike for musicals. As the new school year begins, he finds out that his now ex girlfriend, Nini, moved on while they were on a break from seeing each other. Wanting to move on just to prove he can just as she did, Ricky consistently tries to talk with his co-star as a distraction just to make Nini jealous. As time moves on, he finds himself falling in love for his co-star without that being his original intention.
