Bella was showing pictures of her life back in Arizona to Lizzie. Mainly those of her mom and stepdad, Phil, as they rode the bus to the greenhouse field trip. She didn't want to, but Lizzie had to admit she had yet to see Bella look free and relaxed. Even in her pictures back home she looked nervous and fidgety like she just didn't belong or rather didn't know how to.

"You know, I visited Arizona once. I almost died of the heat and the rattlesnakes really aren't my thing."

"Didn't you say you were from Kansas? Heat and snakes, deadlier ones than Phoenix."

"Precisely, Bells. Why do you think I no longer live there or even visit for that matter? Besides if we forget about the snakes there's still the heat. I just... I can't."

Bella laughed. "Okay, I admit that the heat's a killer but the scenery's nice. Aside from venomous reptiles I really liked the cacti there."

"Really? You know, there's a plant shop that just opened downtown. Where you can make your own pot, paint it, decorate it, and choose your own succulents to add into it. We should go some time. I think I saw cacti there as a plant choice."

"Seriously? That'd be cool and it's new?"

"Pretty sure. I haven't seen it before but then again I never knew Forks had an art shop either, not until Jacob took me the other day."

"I didn't know you and Jake were friends," Bella said, thinking back to the day she met Lizzie with Jake, they didn't seem to know each other back then.

"Well, uh, friends being a loose term since we've only hung out like once. He gave me a ride home after I dropped your truck off."

"Oh, right. Thanks for returning it, by the way, Charlie was super grateful. Saved him a lot of extra work."

"No problem. So, how are you feeling after the accident?" Lizzie asked as the bus came to a stop and everyone got out.

"Fine, I guess. But you were there too, what about you?"

"All good."

The two slowly split up from there as they entered the greenhouse. Bella went to join Edward up ahead while Lizzie fell back to stay by her siblings' side. Dean was on the field trip too, although he was right at the back trying his best to keep himself invisible. He hated school, he hated stupid field trips, and he hated the uselessness of it all. But what did earn his interest was Lizzie and her family, so he endured, he endured for answers to his millions of questions.

Jessica and Angela had strolled next to the said girl. Jessica paused awkwardly, even cursed herself when Angela got swept away in the crowd and she was left alone with the Cullens. Lizzie felt bad for her since Jasper was behind them, his natural intimidating aura making the Stanley girl even more on edge as she searched for her words. But then again, she was lucky Rosalie decided to skip the trip today, seeing as how Jasper, Emmett, and Alice usually ignored Lizzie's so-called 'friends' not caring about their sister's human entertainment whereas Rose outright glared. Jessica finally got the nerve to speak up, but still, a stutter remained.
