Harry's POV
Louis and I meet up with the boys on the football field for the tryouts. Once I entered the field, my nerves got higher. There were about thirty guys here, I assume for the tryouts. It stunned me like a tazor because it just meant we could have a lower chance of making the team.
"This is bad." I stop and turn to Louis.
"Why?"
"Look at how many people are here to tryout. There's no way any of us will make it on the team. These guys are probably even better than us."
"Well thanks for boosting my self esteem." Louis jokes.
"This isn't funny." I frown.
"I know. But come on look at the bright side. Only ten scholarships were given out to get the chance to play here and ironically and forutnately enough, we got five out of the ten of those scholarships. Holmes Chapel High is ranked the number 1 in football high school because of us. That's the first time they've ever been ranked for that since 1984. That says something about us. We're good enough."
"Okay." That 'pep talk' sort of helped calm the nerves I had but they were still there. I watch Louis walk into the field to join the other boys to start warming up, but I stay on the sidelines trying to calm down and not get so worked up about all these people ready to tryout.
"Harry!" I hear my name being called. I turn around and to my surprise I see Ellie from my law and business class walking towards me.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" I greet her.
"For moral support."
"You didn't even know I played." I laugh and raise a brow at her.
"I know. I'm just teasing. I'm actually helping my dad out with the tryouts." She says and I'm stunned.
"Wait, your dad is the football coach?" I ask.
"Yeah." She nods. "He's been stressing out ever since the summer about this. He takes it way too seriously in my opinion and my mum told me to keep an eye for him to make sure he doesn't kill anyone."
"Well isn't that nice to hear." I playfully roll my eyes.
"So are you trying out then?" She asks.
"No, I'm actually trying out for the cheerleading team." I joke and she laughs.
"It doesn't surprise me." She fires back and we have a laugh.
"Yeah I'm trying out. Those are my mates over there." I point to my four best friends, "we got scholarships to play here but it's still kind of stressful."
"I'm sure you'll do fine. They only give out ten scholarships to students, you know that right?" She mentions.
"I've heard." I have, from Louis.
"Well I have to go warm up." I tell her.
"Yeah, cool. I guess I'll-" she says before getting interrupted.
"Harry!" Someone else calls. It's Olivia.
"Hey!" I smile as she runs over to me. She jumps into my arms and I squeeze her tight.
"Look!" She shows me a foam finger with my name written on it after I let go. "Here for moral support! I brought Leeroy, Perrie and Danielle with me."
"We had to drag Leeroy away from the gym." Perrie laughs.
"I was working out." Leeroy looks guilty.
"Your eyes honey." Danielle teases him. "You were looking up and down, left to right at all those sweaty men."
