Marcel's POV
This morning was productive. I went for an early run, wished Tia a Happy Birthday in time before her and Edward left for breakfast and now I'm catching up on some TBBT.
"Fine," I hear Harry say to Edward.
Ed was begging Harry to help him find something for Tia's birthday dinner with her grandmother. Now I have to wait a while longer. The reason for that is because Harry and I were going to go looking for some stuff for our dorms. We aren't sharing one, I actually have one to myself and Harry is sharing his with his friend Louis. Ed is sharing his with Michael.
Ed was supposed to come along but he'll end up choosing a bunch of ridiculous things he doesn't need, so Harry decided to do it for him. Plus, he's got that big dinner tonight.
Little does Tia know that later on she's going to be going on a triple date with the rest of the gang. I'm actually really excited because I haven't seen Veronica since that night when grandad and nan came for dinner and announced their engagement. It was four days ago, and that's the longest I have been without Veronica since prom.
The reason for that is because Veronica and I have both been very busy planning for the future. Not together, but school wise. She has a lot to do to prepare for her last year at high school and I have a lot to prepare for my first year of college. I'm not 100 percent sure what I want to study, but I do know that it will contain some sort of science.
I'm definitely considering being a doctor now. It's not what I wanted to be at first, but now I'm really looking into it. It's more schooling than my first major but I'm willing to take that risk.
Mum and dad wanted me to follow in their footsteps and become a lawyer, but I'm not really good at trying to convince people, nor am I good at anything that has to do with fighting or proving if one is guilty or not. The one who probably will end up being a lawyer is Harry.
I really do miss Veronica, even after four days, it seems like it's been a whole lot longer. We haven't talked much either. Except when I wish her a good night and a goodmorning. I did text her a good morning, but she has yet to respond. I understand she's busy and all and I don't want to bother her. I know what she's going through, and it's not easy.
Planning for college isn't easy. But right now, I'm focusing on getting all the simple things out of the way, like buying stuff for my dorm.
"Thanks man, I ow you one," Edward runs up the stairs with Harry's clothes. Harry walks over and sits next to me.
"What are you wearing?" I look at his clothes. He has a floral button up shirt, with the first four buttons undone, black jeans with a brown belt and his brown boots.
"I don't even know myself?" He looks down at his bare chest, "I'm going for the Ace Ventura look."
"It's working quite well." I nod my head.
"Yeh." He agrees, "anyway, ready to go? I want to ahve as much time going around buying stuff for the dorm."
"Are you and Louis going to have like specific things?" I didn't know how to quite ask the question. I didn't want to make it sound like they were a married couple picking out their bedroo scheme.
"No," he shrugs, "he said he didn't care about what I put on my side of the room. He just said no life-sized poster of Olivia on the wall."
Harry and I walked around the giant superstore for hours, loading the basket up with tons of things for our dorm rooms. We ended up having two loaded trolleys when we went up to go and pay at the register. It was such a hassle getting the things back into Harry's car. Luckily we brought the Range Rover instead of his little classic car.
I bought lots of desk organizers and a bulletin board for my room. I even bought a mini fridge, as well as Harry. We also together bought storage bins, a fan, drying rack for our laundry, mini tool kits, comforters, including pillows for our beds, typical office essentials, ethernet cables, coffee maker, and audio equiptment for Edward. Harry bought three pairs of headphones and he said Louis was providing a stereo, microwave, toiletries for the both of them, other household items and their football equiptment.
We weren't even done yet, but we deicded to finish up our shopping another time because we were tired.
I kept checking my phone while we were shopping and I still haven't gotten a text from Veronica.
"You keep checking your phone," Harry takes a sip of his Starbucks drink as we walk around the town for some nice fresh air as the sun dies down.
"Checking for a text from Veronica." I check one more time before putting it back into my pocket.
"You two haven't been hanging out much lately, how come?" Harry's question is actually causing a serious pain in my heart. I've never felt so distant with Veronica until after she left me the first time. But somehow this feels worse?
"Well she's been very busy planning her last year at high school." I kick the pebbles beneath my feet to keep myself entertained.
Harry doesn't say anything.
"What do you want to eat?" He breaks silence after a few moments.
"Anything sounds good right now." I respond as my stomach growls. Today has been good, besides the fact that I haven't heard from her at all today. Hopefully she isn't busy later on tonight for Tia's little party.
"Lets go in here," Harry smiles, walking into his favorite sandwich place called "U Panini". He is very obsessed with this place, I honestly believe he has a problem.
It's actually a really good place to eat. Mum and dad are working late tonight and Beth has taken the day off so we buy ourselves a couple of sandwiches to take home.
"Should we bring Edward one?" Harry asks but doesn't give me time to answer, "nah he's got his big dinner tonight."
"You know what?" he turns to me, "let's eat here."
We take a seat at one of the booths and bond over eating our sandwiches. It kind of feels nice to be sitting here with Harry. It feels like it's been a while since the two of us actually hung out together as brothers. It would be nice if Ed was here but it's nice with Harry. I've always felt like we've had the closest bond.
Edward used to be such a jerk to me but he's going a little soft on me now. Which I'm glad because he doesn't pick on me as much as he used to. It's nice to bond with my brothers for once, and I'm actually really glad that they are my brothers.
I used to say I hated them with all my might, but now, it seems so much better. Our relationship between the three of us was horrible ever since highschool started up until it was over. Change slowly started to happen for the better, and I honestly think it's because of the girls. It was a rough patch but they changed us, made our brotherly bond stronger and brought us closer than ever before. I honestly believe college is going to be one of the greatest years of my life.
My phone vibrates and I look down under the table to check it. My face lights up when I see Veronica's name appear but it dissapears when I read what she said.
