Marcel's POV
"I'm fine," I say to Harry and Edward after they drop me and Jessie off at our dorm.
"You aren't fine. You're high," Harry pulls my shoes off and pushes me onto my bed, "you need to sleep."
"Can I at least finish my fries?" I frown and Edward hands me my unfinished fries. I eat them happily as Ed and Harry help me get dressed.
"What is this?" Edward pulls out a piece of paper from my jacket. I eat my fries as he unfolds it.
"Looks like a girls phone number." Harry says after looking over Edwards shoulder at the note.
My eyes widen and my heart races. "No, no, no! Veronica is going to kill me! What did I do?"
"You didn't do anything." Jessie sighs, "she slipped it in your pocket and all she said was hello, don't worry. Being high has different effects than being drunk. You at least remember anything stupid you did."
"Is that supposed to make him feel better?" Edward frowns.
"I don't see why it's such a big deal?" I look at my brothers standing before me, "you guys do it."
"Used to." Harry states.
"Well?" Edward shrugs and Harry punches his arm.
"We all make mistakes and hopefully this will be the only time you experiment with it." Harry is so concerned, I feel terrible.
It's barely been a week and he's already had to babysit me. It's usually the other way around. I'm usually the one that has to get either of them out of trouble and now the tables have turned. I don't like this new start, this new life. So far, it isn't going well for me.
"Now get some rest," Harry heads for the door with Edward following behind, "I'll see you tomorrow for breakfast."
I nod and they leave the room. I look to my right and Jessie is already fast asleep in his bed. I fall back onto my pillow and reach for my phone. The time is half past two in the morning. I hope Harry and Edward don't get in trouble for wandering around so late at night.
I check for any text messages and the only one is from Veronica. A goodnight message. I'm so glad I didn't do anything I would regret at the party, besides eating those misleading brownies. At least it wasn't anything that would affect my relationship. I would never forgive myself.
I want to call her but she's probably fast asleep. I knew it was a bad idea to go and I know all she wanted was for
me to have fun, but that certainly wasn't the definition of fun I expected to have. It was a thrill but it was a stupid mistake, never again Marcel, never again.Veronica's POV
"How was your weekend? Talk to Marcelly Boy," Carol teases and pokes my sides.
"I did a bit, he went to a party." I stop at my locker to gather my books for the day.
"College parties!" Carol seems interested, "give me the details. Maybe you'll get to go to one when you visit him."
"Visit who?" Carols boyfriend, Flynn, comes from behind and hugs her. Following Flynn is Trevor, who has been tagging along a lot recently and I don't know how I feel about that.
"Veronica here is going to surprise visit Marcel this weekend." Carol winks at me.
"It's not a surprise if you're telling everyone." I close my locker and lean against it.
"It's still a surprise if Marcel doesn't know about it yet." Carol smiles at me.
"Reminds me," Flynn turns Carol around to face him, "I've got something in my locker for you." Carol claps excitedly and they scurry away.
