A/N: Hi! I'm not dead! Just super busy with my YouTube channel and I've been struggling with writer's block too! Also, life is busy! But here's a cute/really random update that I wrote randomly while I fell asleep, hence the all over the place things. But yeah. Ideas? Comment away!

Heavy, relentless sheets of rain pound against the skylight above you, the overflowing water cascading like a waterfall down the floor to ceiling windows on either of your sides.

Thunder rumbles and lightning crackles.

The power flickers.

But, your attention doesn't waver from the figure in front of you, the glistening of silver knuckles whizzing past your face earning a startled gasp from you as well as an instinctive few steps back, your own hands raising in a defensive block which successfully halts your opponent's next blow.

Grunting in aggravation as well as slight pain, you reassess the situation at hand, sidestepping another one of your opponent's kicks, almost losing your footing in the process.

"You're getting a lot better than the last time we did this," Bucky Barnes admits, eyeing you down from across the padded section of the gym you're both currently in.

"Maybe you're just losing your touch, Sarge," You tease, passing a smirk his way - one that he returns, steely blue eyes shining with humour.

"Maybe," He begins, adjusting his footing slightly, which you make note of, trying to predict his next move.

But, as it determines as Bucky takes off at a full on sprint towards you, almost effortlessly blocking your own few defensive blows and startled movements, you wind up in a chokehold - unable to move, rooted to the spot by his firm grip.

"Or maybe you just still can't beat me," He muses softly, an almost darkly teasing whisper slipping into his tone, his warm breath tickling your ear.

"Yeah, yeah. Fine. You win this time," You grumble, ignoring the shiver that dances down your spine at his words as you tap his titanium arm around your neck three times, a signal that you surrender and the sparring is over.

"Thank you for admitting your defeat," The former Winter Soldier grins, stepping away from you and heading towards the benches conveniently off to the side.

"Anytime," You reply dryly, taking a seat beside him and downing some water.

The pair of you sit like that for awhile, the power at the Avengers Complex flickering on and off, the rain continuing to hammer against the windows...

"I'd say that storm's gettin' worse," The man at your side hums, passing you a glance.

But then, everything goes dark.

The lights go out.

The only thing illuminating the room is a sudden, timely crack of lightning, which makes you jump in surprise, a startled gasp involuntarily falling from your lips.

And when the emergency lights come on, bathing the two people in the gym in an eerie red glow, you can't help but blush at the realization of just how close you'd both become.

"Geez," You mumble, suddenly hyper aware of the very thin material your fingers had managed to grasp a hold of in your surprise, as well as how your arms - heck, your entire figure, had shifted into Bucky's side. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"Hey," He mumbles reassuringly, a small smile tugging at the edges of his lips as his gaze looks down at you through the dim darkness. "It's fine. No harm done."
