A/N: An upload that's not late at night? Whoa!! Anywho, part 3 is coming soon! Also: apparently this is part 90 to this ridiculous mess of a book. Wow. I have serious issues. Yikes.

You had no idea how long you'd been out for.

Shaun had said maybe less than two minutes you'd been completely passed out, only to vaguely come to again and then fall asleep... or maybe you'd passed out again, he wasn't sure.

But by the way your head feels as you shift yourself against the soft pillows of your shared bed back at home, you can't help but groan, gaze wandering to your bandaged shoulder.

"How bad is it?" You muse, voice cracking a bit.

Your fiancé takes notice of your sudden question and immediately makes his way over to you, leaving the window he'd been anxiously peering out of, behind.

"When I cleaned it up and took a look, it didn't look as bad as I'd thought," He replies softly with a slight smile, passing you a glass of water.

"I'm surprised I didn't break anything when I fell," You mumble, wordlessly thanking your Partner for the water, downing it with ease. "Well, maybe I messed up my wrist a bit, but other than that, it's a miracle."

"Yeah. And so is the fact that there was no gauging hole in your shoulder," Shaun chuckles with a shake of his head, leaving you slightly confused.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"The bullet didn't hit you dead on - just nicked the side," He explains with a slight frown, pausing to take a seat on the end of the bed, his gaze resting on yours. "Which means that we can get out of here."

Your eyes widen in surprise, your back straightening a bit more.

"We're actually gonna run? To where, though?" You muse aloud, your voice falling into a hushed, urgent whisper before cracking into a light coughing fit.

"Back to my Dad's headquarters..." Shaun trails off as your face scrunches up in confusion.

"Is your sister even still there? And even if she was, would she let us stay? When we met her in Macau, things seemed a bit... rocky?"

At this, your Partner just sighs, fishing his phone from the pocket of his jacket.

Once more, you give him a look of confusion.

"I guess the only way is to find out," He mumbles, punching in a number on the screen, raising the device to his ear and wandering towards the window, leaving you to ponder your own thoughts for a moment.

A rain had apparently made its way into the city, the steady pitter patter of droplets against the window a tell tale sign of that fact.

It also would appear that the once bright grey day is beginning to fade into a darker one, your fiancé merely a silhouette to your eyes.

"Lingling," The man with his back to you suddenly speaks, a rather desperate tone falling into his voice. "We need your help."

You can only imagine the sarcastic remark from the woman on the other end of the line; likely something along the lines of just how soft the once ruthless child assassin was, much thanks to America and Western culture.

After a while of urgent and hushed words exchanged in Chinese you yet to understand fully, Shaun lowers the device from his ear, a determined grin playing on his features.

"I'm assuming that means we're all good, then?" You hum, shifting in bed a bit, propping yourself up on your elbows with a slight wince of pain as your shoulder moves.
