Chapter 13

" ... ate?"

" ... Nate ..."

" ... Are you awake?"

Shuffling through the comfy pillows, Nate slowly opened his tired eyes trying to make out the blurry vision of a person in front of him. 'This feels rather familiar for some reason' He thought to himself, slowly getting a clear view of the persons face filled with worry and anxious. He tried to sit himself up which he successfully did, not like how helpless he was from last time, 'Last time?' His memory from the last meet-up came rushing through his memories, it took time for him to realize that he had forgotten, and now he remembered again.

"Were you hurt anywhere? Any fatal injuries? Did any of those fat pigs ever leave a mark on you?"

Asher scanned him from every direction looking for any scars, but to no avail, it was just a tiny bit of scratch. Which he did not just made it into a big deal. Nate couldn't help but roll his eyes in exasperation, he's not some kind of breakable glass for god's s- ... scratch that ... for gaia's sake.

"I'm fine, how'd you know I got into trouble with some turds?"

"The necklace, it gives me the vision why it activates, since its somehow connected to me"

He said while he reached out to the necklace and applied more spells, which made Nate curious how he was able to cast the spell despite him not able to feel it. Asher just shrugged not wanting to share the information just like how Nate dodged the question on how he dispelled the magic suppressor from him. He couldn't help but pout secretly which did not escape Asher's eyes. Surprised at the sudden cuteness of Nate, he wrapped him up on a tight hug, earning a gasp from Nate, he probably thought that no one should be able to see this cute side of him except for Asher himself. Himself only.

"Wha-? Hey, let go"

Despite his protest, he himself can't get the energy to push him away. Odd. For a little while, they stayed in that position for half a minute before Asher gently let him go.

"I think I'm about to wake up, my mana is getting stabilize the moment were speaking"

"Why? What happened?"

"I kinda overused my mana and overdid my body, so I slept for about two months to properly recover"

He said in a giddy tone which made Nate mad at the fact that he's not taking care of himself more.

"Don't come finding me with your health still in recovering state, I won't see you no matter how you want to"

"Eh?? But I wanna hang out -"

"Don't care, now, get yourself properly treated"

Forcefully trying to separate their consciousness, Nate felt a wave of dizziness overflowing his entire body, a slight consequence for himself. He abruptly woke up to reality, he saw his brother peacefully sleeping beside him and he released a sigh completely forgetting the dream again. He was about to sleep when he realized a slight movement from behind him, he felt the balcony's door slightly open, which also made Alexis instinctively open his eyes letting his guard up. They both nodded in understanding and as soon as the intruder tried to do something, both quickly got out from the covers and used the blankets to block his vision.

"Nate! Behind you!"

Alexis, with a sword in his hands (dunno where that came from) dashed his way towards the enemy slicing him sideways but not to the point the intruder was cut in half. Realizing that the first intruder got his way out the blankets, he aimed for Alexis, which made Nate reflexively released a huge amount of mana exploding the intruder into ashes. Lightning attribute sure is dangerous.

The Lotus palace was now in a ruckus, every resident was woken up by the sudden quake. And by the time the royal knights arrived, the sun was already setting up from the east. The two young boys who had just dealt with the intruders were now covered in blood, the silhouette reflected by the morning light terrified the people present who had seen both their faces.

"Now that's a sight to behold"

William, the crown prince and the owner of the lotus palace, exclaimed totally amused at how they looked, especially the sinister dark look painted on Nate's face as he gazed to Williams direction.

"Clean this up, make sure not a word of what happened here don't go out the palace ...

Or I'll make sure you'll never see another light of day"

Nate commanded earning a cold sweat from everyone in the room (except his brother who was only bothered at the blood spattered unto him and the crown prince who's definitely still amused). Completely forgetting the fact that he doesn't own the authority here, he looked at the crown prince for approval, to which he just waved his hands and all the people started to do their job.

"I see that you've received the guest meant for me" William commented with his amused voice, and Nate, who was on the verge of yelling at him talked back.

"Did you switched the rooms on purpose? Was that a test?"

"Well, not exactly, but since I've decided to have both of you as my right and left hand man, I suppose a test is a must" Once again William, retorted unbothered at the sinister aura he was releasing.

"Tch, I've no intention of being entangled with the likes of you"

"Uhh, suppose you haven't forgotten about me right? Can we skip all these and let us take our bathes? I don't like how sticky I am right now"

Alexis, not bothered how unpleasant the atmosphere is, interrupted with his annoyed face clearly unhappy at how his sleep was interrupted. Not a morning person after all.

"Ah, yes, sorry, I'll ask the maids to prepare your bathes"

And with that he left both of them to have their own privacy (and I'm just gonna skip all through that stuff since I'm way too lazy to add in more narrations)

For the last two days staying in the palace, with Alexis earning a free training from the royal knight's captain, and Nate busy avoiding the crown prince especially the job he just dumped unto him, those two days have passed by rather quickly yet felt like it was eternity. They could just really just leave given the permission but since Alexis is too set up to learn swordsmanship made Nate think otherwise.

During these upcoming years, no special events have happened in Nate's previous second life, except for the fact that his father has been completely clouded on setting his attention to the black market. Still, no one could ever be too content ... after all, things won't be same as the past ...

A/n:

Rushed things a lil bit, but since am out of ideas on how to do a smooth time skip, i just did what i previously planned and since im working alone, i'll just do whatever comes to mind lol.

Anyways, sidestory coming up (might still take some time updating though)
