"I'm here to discuss my sister."

"Oh? And what about her is concerning you?"

"Her health and safety."

"Oh come now Mika, Static is safer here than that pathetic home. She could have been taken right beneath your nose." he said before taking a sip from the crimson liquid. I huffed a bit but then heard a crash.

"I'd really stop relying on that old man, my brother can make short work of him without breaking a sweat."

"What did you do?!"

"Oh please, it's not like you really cared. I knew your plan from the tone and look on your face." he set down the cup.

"Now are you going to try and kill me or did you not get that far?" he said with a cocky smile. I grumbled and bolted out the door. I got in my car and sped off. Tears ran down my face knowing that the old geezer was gone. That's when I decided to do something. I went out of town to the cemetery to go visit mom. I parked my car and whipped my tears. I walked over to the grave and knelt down.

"Mom? I need your help. Static is stuck in a place that I can't even get to her. That vampire has her locked up. I need your guidance, please mom. Send me a sign or someone who will help me. I can't do this without you." I started to cry. I remembered her giving birth to Stat because dad was stuck in traffic. That was both the best and worst day of my life. Holding static was one thing but losing mom was another. One of the nurses escorted me out of the room with Static in my arms. When dad finally came by he saw me holding Static and saw the nurse and doctor talking to me. They then saw dad and explained that mom was gone.

"Mom? How would you handle this?" I asked quietly. Tears streamed down my face. I then got up and walked away, at least until a stranger touched my shoulder.

"Excuse me? Were you just at Carmine's grave?"

"Yeah, she was my mom. She died while having my sister."

"Carmine was my wife."

"Wait, what?"

"I heard you talking to her, Mika. I want to help."

"Why bother? You left me with Static when I was sixteen and now Static is stuck with a vampire."

"Son, listen, I knew your mother. I know exactly what she would say."

"What would mom say?"

"Let her go. If you keep pressuring her, then she'll resent you for the rest of your life."

"And what about you?! You left when I was 16!!""Because I was a severe alcoholic. I didn't want to hurt either of you."
