It had been a few months since everything happened. You didn't smile or laugh that much anymore. It was rare to see you happy.

But Lagertha had enough. She had her shield maidens get you out of your home. Now, you sat on the shore of a river beside Ivar while Ubbe and Sigurd bathe in the water. Ivar had you wrapped in his cloak as you both sat in silence.

Ever since he found out about Aslaug, he had been silent. You were worried about Floki and Helga for if they didn't return, you would also be an orphan.

-

Sitting beside Ivar on the mountain where Ragnar had taken him, he began to cry.

"My mother, my father." He cried. "Father..."

You frowned, holding him as he sobbed before he screamed. He was in so much pain...

Scream after scream after scream until he ran out of screams and they turned into sobs.

"Shhh. I'm here, my love. I know."

-

Hearing Lagertha address the crowd inside the hall, you and Ivar walked in, the crowd parting and making a path.

Ivar used knives to drag himself across the ground now, no longer using his hands.

Ivar sat on a stool in front of Lagertha as she stood in front of her throne while you stood beside him.

"Welcome, Ivar." Lagertha said

"I've come here for justice." Ivar said. "Everyone knows that you killed my mother for no reason, except ambition. Therefore, I demand justice."

"Ivar." Ubbe said, placing his hand on his shoulder

"Don't touch him, you coward." You huffed, smacking his hand away

"He is not a coward, Astrid." Lagertha said as walked down the steps. "But perhaps he understand things that you and Ivar do not." Lagertha tried as she put her hand on your shoulder

"We understand everything perfectly." Ivar snarled. "You murdered my mother in cold blood. I want revenge. I challenge you to single combat, with Astrid as my champion." Ivar said

"I refuse." Lagertha said

"You can't refuse." You said.

"I refuse to fight you, Astrid Vilgerðarson, daughter of Floki." She said, walking back to her throne

"Why?" Ivar asked. "Hmm?"

"I don't want to kill my niece." Lagertha answered

"Who says you would kill me?" You asked

"I do." She says

"Alright. Don't fight, then. I don't care. Just as long as you know that one day, I will kill you, Lagertha. Your fate is fixed." Ivar told her.

With that, Ivar began to crawl. You glared at Lagertha before following him out of the hall.

-

Later that night, you and Ivar sat in the hall, staring at Lagertha's throne. Ivar imagined killing her in so many different ways.

"We must be patient, my love." You whispered as you wrapped your arms around his waist.

"She killed my mother." Ivar growled

"I know, darling. But we must plan to make sure everything is perfect." You said

Ivar nodded, putting down his knife as he gripped your hands with a heavy sigh.

-

You had been building a ship when you heard them and saw them. The crows. Many ravens flew around the sky as thunder crashed.

"How my little piggies will grunt when they hear how the old boar suffered..." you heard Ragnar speak

Looking down the beach, you saw him, walking hand in hand with Angrboda. She had grown but you knew it was her by her eyes.

"Astrid." You heard a man say.

Turning, you saw a strange man. The strangest you have ever seen.

"Ragnar is dead. Killed by Serpents. Down in cold iron earth, Ragnar lies." He said, placing a hand on your shoulder.

You froze as he suddenly disappeared and soon saw a man dressed in all black with one eye watching you from a distance as a few crows fly around him.

"Odin..." you whispered

The man from before stood beside him now, wearing a dark grin

"And Loki..."

Looking back down the beach, you saw that Ragnar and Angrboda disappeared. Looking back to Odin and his son, you saw they too had gone back to Valhalla.

The sons of Ragnar had also heard their father and they too saw Odin for they were descended from him whereas you saw Loki for you were his descendant.

"It gladdens me to know that Odin prepares for a feast! Soon I shall be drinking ale from curved horns! I shall not enter Odin's hall with fear. I shall wait for my family to join me. And when they do, I will bask in their tales of triumph. The Aesir will welcome me! My death comes without apology! And I welcome the valkyries to summon me home!"

"Ragnar..."

Hearing Bjorn scream, you frantically looked around in shock. The next you heard was Hvitserk causing your eyes to widen. You heard Ubbe and Sigurd next.

Then you heard Ivar let out a loud roar as well.

Out of fear, anger and pain, you let out your own scream.

Oh, and the little piggies did squeal when they heard how the old boar suffered. They squealed so much that the little piggies turned into wolves, calling for their alpha.

Sadly, their Alpha could hear these screams but he could not respond.
