Chapter 16

"You're not surprised?" Thalia looked at Declan in disbelief.

"Why would I be?" He confusedly asked. "He's completely in love with you. It's the most unsurprising thi-. Ouch," Declan turned to glare at Eve.

"I'm so happy for you," Eve pulled Thalia into a hug, ignoring her husband's glare.

"Thank you," Thalia beamed.

"I'm super happy for you too," Declan shouted, embracing both of them tightly, making them giggle.

"Thanks, zippy," Thalia kissed his cheek.

"I'm a father now, Thalia," Declan pouted. "You can drop that pet name."

"I don't think so," Thalia stuck her tongue out at him.

"Ippy," Eeran exclaimed happily from his stroller, clapping his hands.

Eve beamed as Declan sighed.

"They do say no one can backstab you like your own child," He shook his head in disappointment. Kissing Eve's, Eeran's and Thalia's cheek, Declan took off to find the men.

"Do they change after marriage?" Thalia asked as they both eyed Declan's back.

"They just become impossibly clingier," Eve sighed, fixing her son's baseball cap.

"Great," Thalia mumbled.

"Let's go find Sarin," Eve suggested. "Abby is supposed to get here soon, too."

"Yeah, let's go," Thalia finally glanced at Eve before they set out to find the pregnant witch. They spotted her in the garden, with her feet on a second chair and a book in her hands.

"Sar?" Eve called out, making the blonde beauty turn her head towards them with a smile.

"Look who's here," She cooed when she noticed Eeran. "Oh my god, he's wearing a baseball cap. My heart!"

"He's so cute," Thalia smiled brightly.

"Eve, bring him to me," Sarin pouted, extending both her hands.

"Are you sure?" Eve laughed as she freed Eeran from the straps before pulling him into her arms.

Sarin nodded. "Give him to me."

"He moves a lot," Eve said as she handed her son to the witch. "Be careful."

"Don't worry," Sarin said with her eyes glued on Eeran. "Aren't you such a cutie?"

"Who, me?" Abby appeared behind them, batting her eyelashes innocently.

"The important thing is that Simon would say yes," Thalia teased her friend.

"I don't know," Abby grumbled. "The only thing he does these days is working on developing the computerized system of the palace."

"Ouch," Eve grimaced.

"Can't complain," Abby shrugged. "He does stop when I want sex."

Eve choked on her breath, Thalia snorted in laughter and Sarin's eyes widened as she closed Eeran's ears.

"Oh, please!" Abby rolled her eyes. "He doesn't understand anything now. And you don't get to act like you don't know what sex is," She eyed Sarin's belly meaningfully, painting the witch's cheeks red.

"Stop teasing her," Thalia playfully pushed Abby's shoulder.

"And take a seat," Sarin gestured at the other chairs around her.

Abby kissed Sarin's cheek. "Did I tell you you're so cute when you blush?"

"Are you flirting with my wife again?" Roi suddenly appeared by Sarin's side, snatching Eeran away from her.
