For once in her life, she felt like she found the escape she's been looking for.

And for the first time, a lover...
Sae Byeok looked at the man, he was wearing formal attire, and Sae Byeok knew.

He's got money.
"now what? " Sae Byeok thought, she wasn't in the mood to rob this guy out tonight, so she decided to just ignore him like he wasn't even there.
"I'd like to give you a great opportunity," he continued.
Sae Byeok didn't even looked at him once, but she was listening.
the man suddenly opened his suitcase, making Sae Byeok look at him.
"look mister-" before she could continue, her eyes went down to the suitcase filled with money and red and blue ddakji cards.
Her brows furrowed, as she looked at him again.
"would you like to play ddakji with me?"

After the man talked to Sae Byeok into playing ddakji, she finally gave in, going first.
first try, failed.
Then the man did it, flipping her ddakji card with no hassle.
She looked at him with no emotion, but on the inside she was preparing to make a run for it because she wasn't going to give the money she stole earlier to this man.
"you don't have the money to pay up, do you?" the man asked her, she just looked at him.
he smiled at her,
"you can use your body to pay up-" before he could even continue, Sae Byeok's hands quickly made it's way to her pockets taking her little swiss knife out putting it near his neck.
"not like that! I meant, I'll take off 100, 000 won per slap!" he said putting his hands up.
"the fuck do you mean?" she finally spoke.
"since you don't have the money, I'll just slap you instead." he said, his hands quickly making it's way to her cheek.
This made Sae Byeok's temper go up, but she needed that money.
So she had no choice but to just take the pain and her anger in.
Five rounds in the game in, she finally won.
She gave no reaction as the man gave her the 100, 000 won, but she was literally about to explode with joy as this money will help her and her brother.
"Congratulations, Ms. Kang Sae Byeok." This made her look at the man with a shocked reaction,
"I don't remember telling him my name." she thought.
"Kang Sae Byeok, did you stole money from a man wearing a cap today?" he asked, Sae Byeok looked at him slightly panicking.
"ar-are you a cop?" she asked with her voice shaking.
"Kang Sae Byeok, 19. Left North Korea with her brother Kang Cheol, your father got shot while you and your family were crossing with your mother getting arrested. Worked for a local gangster and pickpockets to raise money for her and her brother." He said, Sae Byeok was sweating so much but her anger was at its point as she heard her little brother's name.
"leave my brother out of this, please." she nearly whispered. Holding her knife in her pockets with a tight grip.
he man suddenly handed her a card.

"what is this?" she asked.
"you can win a lot by playing such games in a couple days, just call that number." he said, smiling at her.

She just stared at it, contemplating.
"do you think I'll trust you- huh? where did he go?" she questioned as she looked up, the man in the suit was gone.
She took a deep breath, looking at the card and the cash she was holding.
she lightly smiled while holding the money, planning to treat her brother as she plans on visiting him.
taking another deep breath, she was now off to find another temporary shelter as she left the place where her brother, Cheol was staying at because she wanted to strive for money to get him out there as soon as possible since she didn't want him to think she abandoned him.
as she threw the can of iced coffee away, the RV she saw earlier was now leaving.
through the window, she saw that the driver was actually the same girl who was stealing something at the store earlier.
without thinking, she approached the RV blocking it from the driveway.
