CHAPTER 10: stars for freckles.

Sae Byeok's POV.

"about your question earlier, I do. I do trust you."

After I told her that, she just smiled at me.

Seeing her flushed cheeks, she shyly chuckled.

"I-i'm glad."

We talked more as I noticed Y/n continously took a shot at the liquor she also took earlier.

I was next to her enjoying the mojito.

More talking, and more drinking later,

Y/n's now drunk, not wild drunk but she's tipsy.

Surprised I'm still sane, usually I'm tipsy with drinks but here we are.

Once we got at the top, she quickly made her way to the railings, putting her head down while viewing the city.

Something about that view, with her.

Felt so appeasing to me.

It was like nothing was against us at that moment.

"Sae?"

"yeah?"

"why did you join the game?" she looked at me with full curiosity in her eyes.

Should I tell her?

I should, because you trust her. Kang Sae Byeok, you trust her.

"It was for me and my brother." I told her, she scooted next to me, putting her hands on her chin with a smile.

"I know I sound- like I'm drunk but I'm still sane, don't worry, I'm listening. " she told me with a hiccup stopping her mid sentence.

Tss, this girl really.

"I'm from the North..." hesitating to tell her that, because from the past I got nothing but to get discriminated by the folks I met.

You know, for being a defector.

But with the tons of bad reactions I got from other people from the past, I saw Y/n's eyes twinkle.

"that's different," assuming she heard me, she chuckled.

"what?"

"nothing, nothing." I felt myself smile,

Finally, someone who's different.

I continued telling her about my brother, basically my entire life about being a North Korean trying to cross the boarder.
