"you've been in a coma for 2 years, Y/n."

The two of them fell silent, only the sound of nature and their breathing was heard.

"s-so... You mean that.. That person on the bed, Ji-Yeong and Ali, were us? In the present?" Y/n taking multiple deep breaths, as Kenji nodded at her.

"b-but Kenj they were shot... And I died because of the glass? How- how is that possible?" her voice cracked as she asked Kenji breaking off their hug.

"Y/n there... There was something I didn't get to tell you, before we entered the hospital.." Y/n stopped, staring at Kenji.

"remember how... I told you that I saw everything after I got shot?" his eyes felt like it's burning,

"yeah, and you told me you saw how we got the card. Did... Did you saw something else?"

He nodded making Y/n's eyes wide, "well? What else did you saw?"

Biting his lip as he took a deep breath, "the thing is... Ali and Ji-Yeong.."

Y/n's heart was pounding, she didn't know what to expect.

"Ali and Ji-Yeong didn't got shot."

Her lips trembled, questions were ranging in her mind.

"the gunshot that Kang Sae Byeok heard wasn't Ji-Yeong's, it was mine." tears were rolling down his cheeks while his voice heightened, Y/n was too stunned to even respond as her eyes burned from the tears building up inside of them,

"I saw the guards covering Ali and Ji-Yeong's mouth with a piece of cloth, causing the two of them to pass out. They took them away after that marble game, I didn't knew why. But the two of them... Didn't die." Kenji was a crying mess, he knew it was embarrassing but his body just gave up on him and wanted to breakdown.

"I don't know about what happened to you though, nothing was shown to me... all I know is that the THREE of you, were saved."

A tear escaped Y/n's eyes, as to her questions were finally answered.

Kenji was the only one that didn't survived.

That's why he was the only person they didn't saw back in the hospital, and why he was the only spirit she met.

Kenji was the lost soul, Y/n was the soul needing to wake up.

"Kenji..." Y/n wrapped her arms around his neck, putting his head on her shoulder as she tightly embraced him.

"I should've told you, I'm sorry Y/n. I-i just wanted to spend time with you again, like we're normal teenagers you know?"

Y/n wiped tears off her cheeks as she lightly cradled Kenji onto her, "it's okay, Kenji. I- i understand."

the both of them finally calmed down, using the last bit of time they have with each other before finally saying goodbye, for the second time.
