Chapter 28

-Hailey's POV-
The thought of what happened made me question him in my mind. He doesn't have to take care of me or anything. I never asked him to, and I'm his girlfriend not his child.

We walked around together quietly. I stared at the ground as my feet took steps, not wanting a conversation with him.

"I'm sorry Hailey" he said. looking up at him, I saw that he stared down onto the ground as well.

I didn't respond, instead I was deep in my thoughts. "I should not have said that, it just slipped out. I'm so stupid" he continued.

"How about you get me back?" He asked. "I don't wanna loose you again. especially over me criticizing you"

I stopped and turned to Matt, looking at him. I shook my head and rolled my eyes. I raised my hand and slapped him. "I deserved that"

"Yes, you did" I said wiping my eyes making sure they were dry.
"I was just caring for you. I want to keep you safe and happy at all times, Hailey. I love you"
"I love you too" I hugged him. Matt kissed the top of my head and held me close to himself.

"You really hurt my feelings just so you know" I frowned. "I know, and I truly am sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out that way."
