Chase made it back towards the Lookout, and the sun was already setting. The pups were still outside and noticed Chase coming back.

"Hey Chase." Zuma said. He felt a little awkward for some reason, but Chase turned to him with no emotions on his face.

"Hey." He sighed and walked past them, once again, surprising the pups. He didn't even ask to play with us The pups thought. Chase would always ask to join in, but this time, he didn't even make any effort to. The pups watched Chase go inside the lookout and the doors closing behind him.

"Huh, it seems like he didn't wanna play." Rocky said.

"Yeah." Zuma sadly sighed but didn't go unnoticed by Rocky.

"Um, are you okay?" Rocky pointed out and walked over to his best friend.

"Huh, o-oh, yeah I'm fine." Zuma sighed and Rocky gave him a confused and worried look but didn't press him.

With Chase

Chase walked through the doors into a room in the basement of the Lookout. There was a table which held his new uniform that he was working on. The progress on it took a bit longer than what Chase expected, but it was coming along great and worth the wait and Chase smiled.

"Alright, time to add the final touches." Chase said and placed his hat next to his new outfit and began to work.

Later

The sun has set and the sky got darker but the horizon still shows a slight color of orange and purple. Chase decided it was getting late, luckily, he finished his new outfit for missions and walked out of the Lookout with a smile on his face.

Chase looked around and noticed it was quiet. The pups must've gone to bed Chase thought and began walking right towards his pup-house. He then looked over and saw that Skye was sitting outside of her pup-house, on the grass, looking up at the sky.

"Skye?" Chase called out and Skye turned around and was surprised to see Chase standing there.

"O-Oh, hey C-Chase." Skye stuttered and Chase gave her a confused look.

"What're you doing out here? Shouldn't you be going to bed?" Chase asked.

"Y-Yeah, I was a-about t-to." Skye stuttered again and looked at Chase. The lights of the lookout were making the German Shepherd stand out and making his eyes glow along with the breeze blowing through his messy hair on the top. Skye blushed again, making almost her whole face red, which didn't go unnoticed by Chase.

"Are you okay?" He asked and Skye blushed a little bit more.

"Y-Yeah, I-I'm fine." Chase noticed her stuttering and walked up to her and placed his paw on her forehead. Feeling the gentle and warm touch of Chase's paw, Skye began blushing even more.

But then, Skye felt a light touch on her forehead and her heart began beating rapidly, warmth suddenly ran through her whole body and felt like she had butterflies in her stomach. Chase just placed a light kiss on her forehead, making Skye blush much harder now. Her heart began beating much faster as if she was about to faint.

After about a couple seconds, Chase let go of his paw and backed away a little bit and the warmth Skye felt quickly vanished, like a snap of someone's fingers.

"Well, your temperature's normal, and it doesn't seem like you're getting a fever, you probably just need some rest." Chase shrugged and turned around and began walking back to his pup-house, leaving a blushing Skye. She suddenly felt cold as Chase began walking away from her. Chase opened his door and went inside his pup-house and faced Skye.

"Goodnight." He said and closed the door.

Skye just stood there in shock, she slowly lifted her paw and placed it on her forehead where Chase kissed her. She was in a complete loss of words, even her mind couldn't even think.

"G-G-G-Goodnight." Skye stuttered in her whisper. Her body still didn't move, it was in a complete state of shock. He just...kissed me Skye thought. She couldn't believe what she just felt. The moment he placed his paw on her forehead was the first thing but the kiss just brought on a whole wave of things. The moment he placed his lips on her forehead, she felt like her entire body settled down, it felt warm and felt like her stomach was empty and everything just went silent, more like peaceful, as if she felt protected.

As Skye felt these feelings, she also felt confused because this was all new to her and she's never felt like this before, it felt good but weird too because she had no idea what she was feeling. She felt something inside herself that made her heart flutter and warmth in her cheeks. What am I feeling?, she thought.

Skye quickly took a few breaths as she suddenly shivered from a cold breeze and decided to go back to her pup-house which was next to Chase's. She walked inside and closed the door, placing her blanket on top of her and laying on her pillow, but for some reason, she couldn't go to sleep.

She closed her eyes and waited for the next couple minutes, but she didn't feel tired. What she felt gave her some sort of boost of energy and life. Why was she feeling this way? Skye tried to get rid of these feelings, but it was difficult to forget them, it was like they were stuck with her. Slowly, over time, the feeling began to wear off and Skye sighed in relief and lay on her pillow once again.

But now, she had one thing on her mind which was keeping her from falling asleep. Nobody has ever made Skye feel the way she did other than Chase. So how did he trigger those feelings with just a simple touch and a light kiss. All he was doing was checking her temperature to make sure she was okay, right? So again, she kept asking herself, why did she feel the way she felt?

What was that feeling?

Skye thought, but after a couple more minutes, her eyes then began closing and she fell asleep.
