What is love?

*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・

Trust. Perhaps, one of the most important, if not the most important aspect in a relationship, either romantic or platonic.

Though it can be scary to open up to someone, to trust someone to hold your heart and keep it safe, and for you to hold theirs back, it all ensues that feeling of freedom every single time around that person. Trust lays the foundation between two people.

Maybe that was all Wheein felt around Hyejin: free. She had closed herself for so long, but now, she feels that she can try to open up again. She can say she's ready to love and to be loved. And that to her mind, was so exciting, yet scary.

And no, it wasn't because of all the ways Hyejin would be gentle with her, careful her with her, and patient with her. It wasn't because the both of them met over common circumstances with their broken, intertwined lives and had nowhere else to go. It was more than just those reasons, accompanied by a plethora more. It just, in the end, all led back to feeling free around each other; there were no other words to describe it, because just like how everything in this world exists in different forms, love also has many different forms. But whatever form it is, it's all the same love.

And yet they were young𑁋only feeling this for the first time. So one could possibly ask, how could you know the feeling of love when at a young age? It could just be infatuation, or just a simple attraction. But with love, is that you're searching for that missing piece of yourself, and that missing piece dries your tears instead of causing them. With love, you notice the little things that make you... feel something. And that something can only be described by no one else but you.

But once you know, you're hit with that uncertainty with how long it will last, but it's a risk that 𑁋without hesitation𑁋you're willing to take.

So with Hyein: having been deemed heartless, her coping mechanism being anger, it wasn't until a certain someone would crawl into her life and fill up that particular gap in her emotions, and to show it was okay to feel vulnerable. Though she was met with a rocky dilemma of feeling scared that she'd hurt the girl when pushed to her breaking point, she just couldn't get herself to give up what they had after realising how she felt.

And with Wheein: having completed isolated herself from the real world, been living in silence for years, and taking care of those around her without letting anyone take care of her due to that feeling of burden, losing the ones she's kept close, it wasn't until Hyejin would step into her life to realise that there were many doors waiting to be open that she had yet to approach, and that it was okay to step out of her comfort zone, to explore new things, and to be cared for back in return, even if the words she had said were the bare minimum.
