CHAPTER - 6
—THE ANNOUNCEMENT—

A R U S H I

"I want Anjali and Arushi to get married , within this month ." Dad announced making my breath stop . "What ? No , this can't happen !" Raghu bhai snarled instantly . All looked him with shock . "Why ?" dad asked him , raising an eyebrow .

He nervous grinned ,"I mean ,uh.. you should ask them first ,right ? Do they want to get married or not ?" "I said before ,it's elders decision so it won't change ." dad proclaimed sternly . "B-but I don't want to get married !" I said the truth .

I don't want to get married ,how would I live with some other , unknown man . I am scared of men ,dad know this, then also why is he doing this ?

"Did someone asked your permission ?" mom spat . "But mom - " I was speaking when mumma interrupted ,"shut up ! Just shut . Up !"

"Mumma , I don't want to get married . Why you can't understand ? And I am afraid of men ,how will I stay with some unknown man ? Think about me once , please . I won't worry or disturb any of you but please don't do this . A-and I also want to study more , I haven't completed my studies yet !" I pleaded them , kneeling down .

"Arushi , get up ! And dad how can you take a decision for her without asking her ? If not her then atleast you should have asked me " Bhai asked while pulling me from down and made me stand . "You don't say me what to do . And you bitch you should be happy they accepted you , a ugly whore like you . But here you are showing your dramas ," dad spat venom .

I gasped ,my vision became blur ,I sobbed . "Dad stop it ! How can speak so much ill about you daughter ?" bhai told while pulling me into a hug . I sobbed in his chest .

I never expected my dad will change like this . He sometimes used to call me princess but how fast he changed , from princess to whore . Wow ! It hurts so much .

I ran upstairs ignoring bhai and bhabhi's voice . I locked the door and jumped on my bed . I hid my face between my pillows and started crying . It hurts , it hurts a lot . I also feel pain in chest whenever I hear those name .

If that night that happened to me ,Am I the one who is in fault ? Did I asked them to do that ? Did I say them ,"come , come and do it"? Did I ?

"Arushi , open the door , please !" came bhai's voice from the other side of the door. "No ,I won't ." I denied . "Sweetheart , please open the door . Your bhai is worried about you !" bhabhi spoke . I wiped my face .

I unlocked the door . The door pushed open ,then bhai hugged me ,"idiot girl , someone do like this huh ? You don't even know how much you freaked me ," bhai scolded , caressing my hair . I sniffled ,"bhai , please do something . I don't want to marry , please bhai please ,do something ," I pleaded while joining my hands .

"I am sorry cupcake . I am really very sorry ,I tried explain dad but you know , dad's words are like a line on rock . You can never erase it ." bhai ran his hand through his hair . I pushed him ,"Go away ! Go away from me , you are also like them . You don't care about me . You are not even helping me . I hate you . I hate you all !" I shouted and went to my bed .

Lying on my stomach ,I cried . "cupc-" bhabhi interfered bhai "Abhi , leave her alone for some moments . She is still stunned by the sudden news ," I heard bhai sighing .

The other side of my bed deepened . "Aru," It was bhabhi . She kept her hand on my shoulder ,I jerked it ,"Go away !"

"Ok fine ! I'll go away , but if you take your medicine ," she told . "No , I won't eat that bitter shit !" I refused ,I heard her chuckle ,"please !"

I got up and swallowed it . She left .

I looked at the clock . 01 : 03 a.m. it's so late but sleep was far away from my eyes. I cried helplessly . No Arushi , do something ! Nothing gonna happen by just crying .

Should I leave ? Cause that is the only way to escape this marriage . I am sorry bhai and bhabhi but I need to do this . I am sorry for being selfish .

I sniffled and walked to my closet . I unzipped my bag , I hurriedly pushed some clothes and some of necessary things . I changed into a hoodie and put on a pair of jeans . I opened the tin box where I keep my half pocket money every month . I took some money and pushed them inside my jeans pocket and few inside tha bag .

I lift the bag and hung it over my shoulder . I opened my balcony door . The cold breeze hit my face making me shiver , a lone drop of tear escaped from my eyes ,that particular area felt cold . I gulped when I saw the height . My room was at first floor but still it's height was really high . If I fell then I'll surely break my legs and hands .

I went inside and brought two scarves . I tied both of their end and one's end around the rail . I somehow managed to come down. When I was at the end I jumped . I fell down but thankfully didn't got hurt or injuries .

I saw guards near the main gate . I decided to take another way . I walked to the frontyard through the bushes . I accidentally kept my foot on dry leaves , which created loud noise because of very much silence.

The guards attention turned towards me , the pointed there guns towards me and started running to my direction ,"Who is there ?" one of the guards shouted . I started breathing heavily . My heart beat was increasing . I looked here and there for something which can help me .

I noticed some vines on the wall . I immediately climbed on them . The guards footsteps were coming close . I reached at the top of the wall . The sirens of our house buzzed loudly. I gasped and jumped .

"ahh..!" I cried in pain . I noticed the gate was opening .
