Reese's POV

"Am I heavy?"

I can hear him panting while carrying me. He is sweating so hard.

"Of ...course...not," Aidan is catching his breath.

"I can walk by myself. I don't want to be a burden."
Are Aidan's bones getting weaker, or am I just getting heavier?

"No, you are as light as cotton."

"Then explain your sweat! Your veins are about to explode, baby." I wrapped my arms tighter around his neck. Who knows if his knees will collapse any time soon.

He placed me carefully in our bed.
"Wait, baby. I'll be back."

He is thirsty for sure.

"Get me water, too," I asked him.

He returned with a giant tumbler of water and handed it to me. He snuggled me on the bed. "This is so comfortable. I miss this." He is sniffing my neck while rubbing my tummy.
