Chapter: 5

Life’s challenge will solidify it as you are, just fight until you win.

"Mr Nativity. I'm happy that you give attention to your study. You're graduating so I assume that you will continue what you've been doing until you finally graduate from senior high school. I hope you'll reach your dream in future." I'm in Mr. James' office. I thought I would be scolded or preached again but I was surprised when he greeted me for my performance in recent weeks.

"Thank you sir." Salitang lumabas sa bibig ko. Tumango siya kaya tumalikod na ako at naglakad. 

Nakasalubong ko si Mr Cruz sa pintuan, hindi ko siya tinapunan ng tingin at humakbang. "Mr Nativity, I hope magtuloy-tuloy na ang pagbabago mo dahil sawa na ako sa mga katulad mong pasaway sa paaralang ito." I sarcastically laugh. I left there and I might have done something bad.

No matter what you do, they still see you as wrong. Even if you have done something right, they will still see clearly your wrong. 

I want to laugh but the anger I feel is more dominant.

I stopped thinking when I suddenly saw Jazure approaching me. Suddenly my face wrinkled. What does she want and does she just always show up somewhere?

"When will you approach me? If you thank me again for what I did, I don't need to thank you. I just need peace with myself." 

She frowned at me. I was about to speak when I heard a voice behind me, "Jazure, akala ko hindi ka pupunta." Lumapit ang bakla sa kanya at sumabit ang kamay sa braso ni Jazure. 

They looked at me at the same time. Because of the embarrassment I felt, I immediately left there. They were shocked because of what I did. I'm so stupid because I wasn't the one she went for.

I hate this! 

I looked lazily at the two member in my group, I didn't think that this two would be my group, these two  without being able to contribute. "Grabe ka naman makatingin sa akin bro," sabi ni Ryan na kanina pa naiilang sa paraan ng pagtitig ko. 

"Ako na sa ibang ire-research," sabi ni Jacob kaya gumaan ang pakiramdam ko. 

Tumingin naman kami kay Ryan na tahimik lang na nakikinig sa amin. "Ikaw ryan, anong ambag mo?" tanong niya. 

"Pwede bang magbigay na lang ako ng pang merienda?" Napasapo sa noo si Jacob. Kahit kailan talaga hindi mo makikita si ryan na tumulong sa mga school activities, palagi niya itong inaasa sa mga kasama niya. 

I sighed and resumed our project about 3d nature. Jacob helps me while Ryan is sitting and eating while watching us.

I pushed down the pen I was holding and looked sharply at Ryan so he was alert. “Don’t you intend to help?" I asked him. 

Dali-dali itong lumapit at kumuha ng ruler. "Sabi ko nga tutulong na ako." Pinakita pa niya na sinusukat niya 'yung sketch ni Jacob. Napailing si Jacob at pinagpatuloy ang ginagawa. 

Ilang oras ang ginugol namin sa paggawa ng project, buti na lang weekend ngayon. Nandito kami sa condo ni Jacob, dito namin naisipan na gumawa. Ang sakit ng kamay ko dahil nangalay. 

"Hindi pa ba tayo kakain?" sabay kaming tumingin ni Jacob kay Ryan na sapo-sapo ang tiyan. "Kakakain mo lang kanina 'di ba?" Ryan scratched his head because of what Jacob said. We just found ourselves in the kitchen of jacob’s condo and eating snacks.

Kumakain kami, paminsan minsan ay naguusap. "May naisip na ba kayong course sa college?" punong puno ang bibig ni Ryan na nagtanong sa amin. 

"Tourism ata ang kukunin ko," sabi ni Jacob.
