Chapter 16

The kindness you give to your.    neighbour will also came back to you at the right time.

The smiles of the children reached heaven as they received what I gave them, their food and toys. I stood as I watched them gleefully as I opened the ones I had given.

Maya-maya pa'y napatingin ang iba sa gilid ko ng may biglang magsalita, "Kamusta na kayo? May dala akong pagkain para sa inyo." Pumihit akong paharap dito, nanliit ang mga mata niya ng makita ako. "Anong ginagawa mo dito?" tanong niya.

"Ate ganda binigyan kami ni kuya pogi ng pagkain at laruan," the girl said happily and even pointed to the barbie doll she was holding. We both looked at the boy holding the toy car. "Ang bait po niya ate, siya po 'yung kinukwento namin sa'yo." Hindi makapaniwalang nakatingin sa akin si Jazure.

She told the children to play there first and they immediately followed. When she saw that they were far away she immediately turned to me. "Thank you for making them happy." She sincerely said.

"Mabait ka naman pala--"

"I'm not nice, I just saw them on purpose so I couldn't do anything so I gave it away," I lied. Her eyes narrowed checking if what I was saying was true.

"But thank you anyway, you can see the joy in their eyes. I can't imagine that you're the one they're referring to as kuya pogi." She winked at the latter.

My eyebrows met.

"Ate ganda! Kuya pogi!'' We looked at the children who were now having fun with their new toys. Jazure automatically smiled, she even waved at them.

I sighed when she suddenly pulled my hand there, I could do nothing but follow her pull on me. The children greeted us.

"Ate laro tayo kasama si kuya pogi," sabi ng isang batang babae. Natatawang tumango si Jazure at sabay na napatingin sa akin. "Tara?" She didn't wait for me to say anything when she suddenly bet me. It was laughing to walk away with the kids, it was only then that I realised I was the bet.

I took a deep breath, I caught a glimpse of Jazure running away from me. I smiled and followed them running, pure laughter and shouting you can hear around, there is not much car so safe for children. I tirelessly chased them.

Even though they were out of breath they continued to run. I caught up with the little boy who thought I would bet on him but he was wrong. I immediately looked at Jazure's who was now alert because she knew she was my target.

She screams to run away, I can't help but laugh because of the speed of her running. When I caught up with her I immediately locked her in my arms, she couldn't help but laugh. We were just startled by small voices speaking from behind us so we quickly parted from each other.

Still others giggled as they looked at us, she averted her eyes from me as like embarrassed by what had happened. The boy approached me, I bent down and stroked his hair, I smiled at him. I looked at Jazure who was smiling as she looked at us.

We spent a few hours with the children. I was happy because the children's faces were full of happiness. I can't explain my emotions while looking at them. When I watched them I remembered the happy memories I had when I was a child. Like me, my childhood was happy like them.

It's like I went back to my childhood when I played with them. I'm glad because Jazure is so good. In first, I didn't think she's that kind of person. I can't imagine that today we will meet again on the path of goodness.

The last time we waved to the kids, it was getting late so we decided to go home. They also waved at us. Jazure closed the car door and fastened the seatbelt. I have already driven my car. I couldn't help but turn to Jazure who was sound asleep. She fell asleep because she was tired of playing with the kids, even though I knew she was tired I knew she was enjoying it.
