Chapter 28

POV: Anthony

That was not Anna. She is not one to growl at her family. Her pack.

It especially was not her when she busted down the door and ran out.

I chased after her.

"ANNA!" I yelled.

I didn't get a reply. I didn't expect to.

She ran into the woods. I didn't shift. I don't want to get caught. It's hunting season....

"Shit! ANNA!"

She could get caught.

"Over there!"

I heard people yell and stopped moving.

I bent down and used my eolas.

I found Anna, she was on the ground. She blacked out.

I went to where the yelling came from and saw hunters running to her.

I stood up. "No..."

I ran the direction I saw her. I have to beat them.

But, by the time I made it there, she was gone.

Tears streamed down my cheeks. They took her.

I wanted to give up. She was gone.

But I can't.

If that was me taken, Anna would have never given up.

So I won't give up on her. She's my pack.

I sniffed the air, looking for her scent.

I found it and ran in that direction.

I saw her and hid in a bush.

She looked unharmed.

They were loading her into the back of the truck.

I can't get her now. But I can get her when they stop.

The hunters got into the truck and started to drive off.

I was about to chase them when someone grabbed my arm.

I turned around to see Kalel.

I growled at her, "What are you doing?! Let me go!"

She growled, "Don't be dumb. They will see you in the rearview mirror and be suspitious."

"But they are taking her away! They could kill her!"

"They won't for a while."

"What?!"

"They live in the bottomist part of Calafornia. They have a long drive."

"Let's chase them!"

We fought and fought.

She never let go. I was stuck.

Anna's going to die.

And I think Kalel wants her too.

POV: Anna

I woke up in the back of a truck.

I was in a city, like a huge city.

I heard the car door shut and ducked down. I'll jump when they open the back...

Someone opened the back and I dashed out.

"Get it!"

I ran down the sidewalk. People were screaming and dodging.

I had no idea where I was going. I was lost.

I ran into an alley way and hid there.

The hunters ran past, yelling.

When they were far enough away, I let out a whimper.

I was lost.

In a huge city.

WIth nowhere to go.

I got up and started pacing.

I felt the connection with Anthony active.

My ears perked up, "Anthony!"

Anna! Anna, where are you?!

"I don't know where I am Anthony. I'm lost and alone."

Kalel and I will track you down. Are you ok?

"I don't know Anthony. I don't feel right."

I know Anna. Just stick tight! We'll be there soon!

He disconnected and left me alone.

I hope he finds me.

I won't survive in the city.

Especially not alone.

Please God, let me live.....
