Alison's POV

The next morning I woke up early and went out to buy everyone breakfast. I would make them all breakfast myself, but I didn't want to intrude. Especially since I never got permission to use their kitchen, let alone know where anything was at. I wasn't exactly sure what they liked so I just ordered everything possible the restaurant offered and made sure to bring a bit extra, just in case.

When I arrived back to the Fields' home, Emily's parents and brother were barely walking downstairs. I knew Em was still sleeping in her room and CeCe was in the guest room we were saying in. I offered to stay in a separate room from Em because I didn't want to push my luck. I was still unsure about her father accepting me.

"Good morning, I brought you all some breakfast" I said to non of them in particular.

"Sweet! Food! Thanks Emily's girlfriend" Jake replies. Well I guess he's okay with me now, hopefully?

"Jake, honey. Her name is Alison. You know it's not polite to talk to anyone without addressing them by their proper name" Pam says as she gives me a sympathetic half smile.

"It's alright Pam, I don't mind. After all I'm a guest in your home" I say back with a smile. "I wasn't sure what you'd all like and since I didn't want to wake anyone up earlier, I went out and got everyone some breakfast. I hope that was okay?" I add nervously.

"Of course. Thanks honey. I should go wake Emily up then" Pam answers before going back up the stairs, leaving me with the two Fields men. This is going to be awkward.

"So Alison, how long have you known my daughter for?" Mr. Fields asks.

"About 6 and a half months. But we've only been together a little over 6 months" I answer nervously.

"So why all the rush?" he asks.

"I didn't want to waste time. Once I knew Emily was the one for me, I didn't want to mess up and let her go so I asked her to be my girlfriend. But I also respected her wishes and didn't force her into it" I say adding the second part quickly.

"I see"

Just then CeCe walks into the dining room giving me a scared look. "Good morning Mr. Fields and hey Jake" she says.

"Morning blondie" Jake answers with a mouth full of bacon. Well that was classy.

Mr. Fields just glared at his son and then turns to look at us. "You girls have great manners. Your parents must have raised you girls very well" he says to us.

"Well actually, our dads both left us and my mom was never really around. Ali pretty much was the one that raised me" CeCe answers only making Em's dad give me a weird look. I never thought I would be this scared meeting a girlfriends parent before.

I couldn't help but focus on the way CeCe said 'dads'. And when she said I raised her, that only made me sound older. There were so many things in those very few sentences that were working against my nervousness even more.

"Well you did a great job Alison" he responds after a few minutes.

Finally Emily comes into the room, after taking her sweet ass time of course.

"Morning babe" she says as she gives me a long kiss in front of her father, only making me more uncomfortable then I already was before. "Oh and good morning everyone else" she finally adds with a light chuckle.

After everyone's seated at the table everyone starts having their separate conversations.

"So what are we doing today" Em asks me.

"Well I got you guys tickets to Six Flags. So maybe that?" I ask.

"Sweet! I love your girlfriend Em!" I hear Jake say from across the table.

"Wait why aren't you going?" my girl asks.

"I have something to take care off. But I'm sure you, Jake and CeCe will have fun without me" I say giving CeCe the look.

"Awwwe but I wanted you to come. It won't be any fun without you babe" she pouts.

"Don't worry baby. We still have a few more days here. Maybe tomorrow we can go again?" I say only earning a serious of different looks from everyone at the table.

Shit!

"Okay. You better" she then says as the room goes awkwardly quiet once more.

*****

I was finally able to get my nerves under control about two hours after Jake, Emily, and CeCe left.

"Pam, Mr. Fields can I talk to you both for a moment?" I ask them as I walk into the living room where they're both seated.

"Yeah, what's this about?" Pam asks. Em's dad on the other hand just keeps glaring at me. Now I'm starting to get nervous all over again. Just great!

"I wanted to talk to you both... It's about Emily" I add.

"What's wrong? You're not leaving my daughter, are you?" she asks.

"No! Of course not. I would never do that. If anything she'd be the one to end the relationship" I chuckle nervously.

"Then what's wrong?"

"I wanted to ask how you both felt about me being with your daughter. She told me that you both didn't like that she was with me and I completely understand why. I'm just worried about my girl feeling unwanted with her family, because of me" I say trying to lead up the conversation.

"Honey, you already know how I feel. Jake doesn't seem to mind anymore, now that you spoiled him too. Plus being a teenage boy and all, I'm pretty sure he's liking it. You know how they get when it comes to a lesbian couple." Pam answers with a slight laugh, easing my heart a bit.

"Well, I'm not sure I like this" was all Mr. Fields let out. I couldn't say anything. Hearing that hurt.

A lot.

"I-I understand sir" I say looking down at the floor trying my hardest to hold in my tears.

"That's just not the way we raised her to grow up to be. Pam told me everything Emily said to her back in Rosewood" he says causing me to get nervous.

I couldn't help but get scared, did Pam also tell him how CeCe and I both lashed out on her before that?

"Emily was right" he adds making me look up quickly. "But I still don't know if I approve. I want a traditional life for her. I want her to get married to a man and be able to have children and live a normal life. I know you love her, but you can't provide that for her" he then adds.

At this point I can't help but nod as my tears continue to stream non stop down my cheeks. I had a feeling this would happen. There's a small moment in silence as they both just stare at me.

"You really love her, don't you?" Pam says breaking the tension.

"More then life itself ma'am. I would literally do anything for her. I just want her happy and being well taken care of, the way she deserves to be" I say in between tears.

"I can tell. I've never seen her so happy. She would always be so quiet, locked away in her room or take off on Roxy to who knows where. But now, shes actually opening up and smiling" Pam adds.

I'm at least happy that two-thirds of her family approves of us. Regardless of the outcome, I'm still more then determined to ask.

"Mr. and Mrs. Fields, there's one more question I wanted to ask you both" I say after I wiped my tears away.

"Go ahead" Mr. Fields responds with a blank stare.

"May I please have your permission for your daughters hand in marriage?"
