"Okay let's cross the street" Jimin says. I smile at his excitement. Jin holding Andy. Jimin starts crossing the street along as a family start crossing the street coming our way. But I notice a car is picking up speed. The family also left their little girl alone and is walking behind them. "JIMIN!" I yell, he keeps walking. "JIMIN!" I yell as my eyes water.
The car picks up speed. I start running his way. I push him out of the way at the same time I grab the little girl. I fall on the floor holding the little girl in my arms. The car speeds past me. Screaming of people all around. I let a tear slide down my face. I could've lost Jimin too. I whimper just a little bit. I hold the girl in my arms, I look down at her.
"Thank you!" She says. I sob. "You're welcome" I say. "Lydia! Jimin! Are you guys okay!?" Namjoon yells. They rush towards us. Namjoon helps me stand up. I ignore Jimin and look at the little girl ignoring the bad pain in my body. "Where's your family?" I ask her. "They went down that way" she says. "We will take you to the police" Jin says. The little girl hides behind me.
I grab her hand and walk her to the bench. "What's your name?" I ask her. She looks at me. "Charlotte. Charlotte smith" she says. I sigh. "What were your parents doing leaving you behind knowing they should stay with you when crossing the street" I say. I look at her. "Those aren't my parents. I'm adopted" she says. I let a tear slip down my face.
"Cmon. We will send you to the police but I'll stick with you till the end" I say. She smiles at me. "You're bleeding" she says pointing to my leg. I look down. I wipe the blood. "I'll be fine" I say. I stand up. I take a deep breath. I look at her. I grab her hand. "Cmon let's take her to the police" I say as I reach the guys. "Mommy you're bleeding" Andy says. I look at him. "No baby. Mommy is fine,I Promise" I say. He holds out his pinky. I interlock my pink with his.
He smiles at me. "Cmon children" I say. I grab their hands and start walking. Ignoring the pain in my body. I could've lost Jimin, at the same time, a child would've lost her life to. I blink my tears away. "Mommy are you crying?" Andy whispers to me. I look down at him. "Nah baby. Mommy is okay" I say with a small smile. I cross the street safely with both kids.
I take a deep breath. I get into the car with the kids in the back. The others get into the car. We make our way to the police station.
At the police station
"You. Both of you. Go have a seat over there" I say to the children and point to the two chairs away form the police desk. They walk that way. "What do you mean her parents don't want her?" I say frustrated. "I called them and they said they don't want her back" the officer says. "Well what are you gonna do?" I say. "Well I could send her back to the orphanage. She has no guardians, no nothing" the officer says. I look at him.
"Lydia-ah she'll be okay. I promise. I can make you her legal guardian" he says. "Just sign these papers here and I'll make it official in her reports, files, and everything"he says. I sign all the papers. All 25 sheets. He puts everything into the computer. Changes her files and everything as I'm now her legal guardian. "Now if there is a problem. If she's sick and in the hospital or something. You'll be notified" he says. "I'll keep an eye on her I promise" he says holding my hand. I softly smile. "I couldn't imagine a kid without a family" I say as I look at Andy and Charlotte.
"She will be okay" he says. "Thanks uncle" I whisper "now the car is on the way to pick her up and send her to the orphanage" he says. "You have to tell her before she leaves" he says. I sigh. "Okay" I whisper. I look back at him. He softly smiles. I stand up and walk to Charlotte. "Did they find my parents" she says. I look at her. "I'm sorry." I say. She lets a few tears slip as I wipe them away.
"You have to go back to the orphanage princess. I'm so sorry" I whisper. She smiles sadly at me. "But I don't want to" she says. "Hey when I'm older and situated in a house with my family. I will pull you out of that orphanage and you can stay with me okay?" I say. She smiles. "Since..we'll..I am now your guardian" I say. She smiles at me. "Lydia..they are here" I hear the cop say. I smile sadly at the girl. I hug her. "Smile for me. Be a good girl. Call me if you need me" I say with a smile. I grab her hand and walk her to the front. "Ahh lydia you've grown" the girl says. I look at her confused.
"Cmon Charlotte. Let's get you to bed" she says smiling at the girl. I look at Charlotte and hug her. "I'll see you soon" I whisper. She smiles and gets into the car. I wave as they drive away. I feel someone grab my hand.
"Let's go home" Jin whispers. I turn and look at him. "Oppa" I whisper. "Hmm?" He responds. "I have some feeling of a connection towards her. I don't know why" I whisper. "Maybe it's parent instinct but will figure it out baby. Let's get you home so I can treat your body with medication" he says with a smirk. I blush. I turn and walk back inside. "Thanks uncle" I say. "I'll take my leave now" I say. I grab Andy's hand.
"Take care princess" he says. I smile. "annyeong(goodbye)" I say. He smiles as I walk away with Andy. I get into the car with the others. I'm seated between jungkook, and jimin, with Andy on my lap. Jin and Suga in the front. Namjoon, Taehyung and j-hope in the back. "Mom" Andy whispers. I look down at him. "Why do you call him uncle?" He asks. "Cause he is my uncle. On grandpas side of the family" I whisper. "Cool" he responds. I chuckle. "You my little one, should go to sleep" I say. He lays he's head on my chest. I play with his hair. Jungkook kisses my head. I lay my head on his shoulder. Somehow falling to sleep.
