Don't be ashamed of your melanin, whatever tone of skin that God has put you in.
Don't try to camouflage it like its a sin.
My melanin is affluent, with more value than gold.
It shouts in all caps with a text written in Bold.
The way that it shines - you can't find in any products that are sold.
Society has fooled us into bleaching it, so that the pigment is more controlled.
Your melanin is aristocratic - it jumps off the page- it's charismatic.
As 2pac said " the darker the berry, the sweeter the juice - the darker the skin, the deeper the roots."
These are all spoken truths.
However , I would be remiss if I didn't mention the time within which - I hated the darkness of my exterior.
Because most of us were taught and brought up to think it made us inferior.
It took time to learn how to love my dark brown skin. Through knowledge of self - learning about the culture and history.
Immersed myself in it all.
Thats how to relationship with my beautiful skin was able to evolve.
