They've turned it into battle of the races

Pale killing dark faces.

 In justices in clear cut cases.

He choked him out and was allowed to go home and breathe a sigh of relief - while we all stared at our tv screens in utter disbelief.

 Looking for a solution of peace we can achieve.

Trying not to turn this pain into a reciprocated hate and racist internet debate.

 Seeing that all us are liable to the same kind of fate.

 The bodies of young sons and daughters lay beneath us.

How can anyone deny the way they treat us?

I desperately cling to the teaching of MLK and Ghandi in those moments, remembering  that only light can drive out darkness.

Truth be told I've often thought  that maybe segregation would've been better, since we seem to struggle to co exist together.

 I know it's an ignorant thought, but this just shows you the limits we've been pushed too.

 Ideologies of peace we try to remain tethered to.
