Renae,
Today was the day I was meeting august whole family. I had a good feeling about going but at the same time I was scared of how they would think of me. I got out of bed going straight to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and took a deep breath before hopping into the shower. I scrub all over not tryna be musky or anything far from that. I hoped out drying off with my towel that was sitting on the counter. I walked out to my closet wondering what I should wear but I finally decided on my spongebob fitted shirt, denim jeans, and my yellow vans. I took my hair out of the Bantu knots I had put in and it came out how I wanted it. I smiled and grabbed my phone putting everything I needed into my purse. I grabbed my phone seeing that august texted me. My mom went to work this morning so I didn't get to see her. I skipped downstairs making me a toaster strudel. I made my way outside seeing august getting out the car. I brushed my hands together so the crumbs would fall off before giving august a hug
"You look good" he said
"Thanks I try" I said. He chuckled opening the door for me. I smiled getting in. He started the car pulling off.
"You ready" he said.
"A little " I said.
"girl they gonna like you" he said pushing my shoulder playfully. I smiled looking out of the window. Watching the trees shake lightly and the cars zoom by. I didn't even realized we pulled up to the house.
He opened my door and I got out as we made our way to the front door. He got out his key and unlocked the door. I smiled stepping in.
"Ma we here" he yelled dropping his keys in the dish. She came out.
"Oh hello Renae" she said.
"Hey Mama Shelia" I said smiling. She smiled back giving me a little hug before slapping august in the back of the head and he put his hand where she slapped him.
"what i tell you about yelling in my house boy" she said. i bust out laughing. he staled faced me before rubbing the back of his head. I grabbed his hand and pulled him to the garage
" Don't pout it was only a slap on your head" i said biting the inside of my cheek to hold in my laughter.
"Lets just get what we need out of here" he said. i giggled
"are you mad or are you real mad" i said trying to hold in my laughter but failed miserably.
"Really you should know" he said. i smiled and got the box while he got the other two. We walked inside and put them on the table. August was pouting and it was cute. I know he was playing so I walked by him and he put my his hands on the side of me as I leaned on the counter.
"What's wrong" I said making his face. he chuckled some by tried to cough to make it looked like he wasn't laughing. i smiled getting away from him and started putting up the tablecloths and getting the plastic cups out.
While we was decorating somebody knocked on the door. We both looked at each other then the door.
"I'll get it, you guys finish up" she said Going to the door.
"That's probably my aunt" he mumbled.
"Huh" I said. He looked up
"Oh I was saying that's probably my aunt because she like to be early" he said. Okay I was now officially nervous about this. He saw my face
"Don't worry baybeh they going to like you" he said.
"But what if they don't" I said.
"Just trust me ight" he whispered as we put the rest of the plates and cups out.
"August" I heard a light voice say. He turned around and smiled.
"Auntie" he said smiling. I continued putting everything up. They was having there on conversation until August wants to call me over. I walked over there while she examined me.
"I'm renae" I said kind of reading her mind. She smiled pulling me into a hug. I hugged her back because it would've been awkward.
"Your so pretty. I'm august aunt Rena" she said.
"I love your name that's my mom's middle name" I said smiling..
"I like her" she whispered to august. I giggled some while she went in the back with her kids.
"Told you" he said.
"But it could've went worse" I said looking down
"Your cute when your nervous" he mumbled. i looked down and smiled
"so like do you have a big family" i Asked being more nervous than I already was. He chuckled
"you'll see" he said. i sighed lowly while he laughed

I met all his aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. They were all funny and embarrassing August. He rubbed his hand down his face before rubbing his tummy. i laughed a little. We just got done eating but after everyone was finished they went back to what they was doing.
"was sup bruh" Travis said coming over and dapping up august. he nodded at me and I smiled
"this all you" he said looking at me
"all me" Aug said. i smiled knowing he claimed me knowing we don't date just yet.
"Can talk to august real quick" he asked me
"Go ahead he is your family" I said. He smiled and him and Aug went somewhere. I grabbed our plates throwing them away. His aunt Rena came in here.
"What you doing for spring break" she asked.
"I don't know really probably chilling with my mom" I said.
"You and your mom should come with me, august, and his mom. She could bring a friend " she suggested.
"I'll tell her about it" I said. She smiled.
"Hopefully she will say yes so I can get to know both of y'all a little more" she said. I smiled agreeing with her before going out back and sitting down. His neices amayila ,kayden, chaylen came up to me.
"Have you seen august" chaylen asked.
"Yea he in the kitchen" I said. They all went but kayden. She stayed with me.
"Can I chill with you" she asked.
"Yea come on" I said grabbing her hand. She led me to the dining room where her toys were. No one was in here but me and her.
We was playing for awhile and she would tell me about what her august do at night. I can tell he has a better connection with her. Not saying he love her more than the others but because he had more of a connection with her..
"Do you like my uncle" she asked.
"Yea I do why he told you something I don't know" I asked squinting my eyes. She smiled
"Not spilling anything" she said. I started tickling her and she was squirming.
"Okay okay I'll spill" she said. I stopped and looked at her while putting her on my lap.
"Well he said that he l—" she was cut off by august picking her up.
"You was gonna sell me out like that Kay" he said. She smiled hugging onto his neck and taking his hat.
"No I mean Yea" she said unsure. We all laughed and he put her down letting her go play with the other two. I stood up and august grabbed my hand
"so you gonna come on that trip with me" He asked. I shrugged
"If my mom wants to go then yea" i said. he smiled as we both sat down on the couch
"told you my family not that bad" he said
"Whatever" I said smiling
