Maddie's POV
Telling my family is the hardest part of the week. Lexington is gone to tell my dad himself, but I know it's hard for him too. Because he's losing his trainee for three months and I'm losing my boyfriend. I lost my best friend, and now I'm losing Lexington.
He asked me if I wanted to go too, but I can't leave. My family is here, my college is here, my life is here. I can't leave, as much as I want to be with Lexington, I can't go.
I'm a crying mess when I'm at my parent's house telling my mom. I know my dad hears me falling apart when he walks through the backdoor while I'm on the couch sobbing.
"Honey it's three months, he won't be gone forever," she tells me as I cry harder. "But long-distance relationships never work. Never. He'll be gone and what if he doesn't want to come back?" I ask.
"He'll be back honey. He's in love with you and everyone can see that. I promise he'll be back." she tells me.
"He was supposed to be here. We were supposed to be talking about engagement, about house plans, adopting a puppy, planning a wedding." I tell her as she sighs and rubs my back.
"Mads" my dad whispers rubbing my back in his hand.
"He'll be back" he whispers rubbing my back as I sigh. "I promise he'll be back," he tells me rubbing my back in his hand.
I sigh holding my head in my hands as I wipe my tears. I don't even know what to think.

Lexington's POV
I walk through the gym and avoid talking to everyone as I find Jax's office in the back. I don't knock before I open the door and sit down in front of him.
"Knock why don't you?" he asks as I sigh and stare back at him with a blank face. I haven't told him yet, and he knows that something isn't right. Because I'm fucking dying on the inside.
"What happened?" he asks closing the files on his desk.
"I have to transfer to Oregon for three months for my job" I blankly tell him as I lean across my jeans and cross my hands together.
"When did this happen?" he asks. "Yesterday. I told Maddie last night and she didn't take it well. I have to leave in a week." I whisper as I sigh.
"So what does this mean about her?" he asks as I sigh. "That's why I'm here" I start, "I love Maddie. I know I want my life with her and she's torn up that we'll break up but I can't imagine my life without her." I tell him as he sighs and nods.
"Okay?" he asks leaning back in the chair. "I know it hasn't been years, only about a few weeks of us being together" I start as he sighs.
"Oh god here we go," he tells me. "Can I propose to Maddie before I leave?" I ask as he sighs.
