Today was the first day working without ransom, it already felt weird knowing he wasn't going to be there but now it was happening it felt even weirder. Ransom decided to drive her to work, he was desperate to spend anytime he could with her but when he came to a stop outside the building he knew that he couldn't go in with her. It would be weird.
"So are you coming over tonight?" He asked moving in his seat to face her
She nodded smiling brightly "yes, well only if you want me to of course" she rushed out the last part, feeling immediately awkward
He chuckled pressing a soft gentle kiss against her lips "I'll come pick you up then, 5?"
"5" she nodded kissing him once more before opening the door "I'll see you later, I love you"
"I love you too" he sighed as she shut the door
He watched her every move until she was in the building and out of sight. He didn't know what to do with his day, the man he was all those months ago was gone. Dianna had changed him, but now he had to find something to do and what else was there to do but go to the country club.

As soon as Dianna opened the door she heard her name being called. She looked in the direction it was coming from to see Harlan standing with not only Walt but a new guy who she didn't recognise, he must be the new employee. She smiled at Harlan walking towards him.
"Dianna, it's so nice to see you back. How was your trip away?" Harlan smiled softly
"It was amazing, how's everything been here?"
"Good, really good-"
"Good that ransom hasn't been here" Walt interrupted
"You know Walt I-" Dianna started
"Let's not start any arguments. Dianna, this is Louis. He'll be helping you through your work load, hopefully it'll give you more time to focus on your book. Louis, this is Dianna. You'll listen to her carefully and do as told" Harlan stated
Dianna smiled softly at the man she now knew as Louis "lovely to meet you" she put her hand out for him to shake
He took her hand in his shaking it gently "and you"
"We'll let's go get started then" she smiled walking into her office, Louis following behind her.
Dianna sat down at her desk, she had to admit it. It was nice to be back, even if ransom wasn't here it was nice. She reached into her bag pulling out a small photo frame containing a picture of herself and ransom, she smiled softly positioning it on her desk.
"Is that your boyfriend?" Louis asked putting his briefcase down
Dianna looked at his briefcase, ransom never brought a briefcase. She frowned slightly before realising he had asked her a question. "Yes, he is"
Louis nodded "so what should we start on?"
"I need to go through some emails I've missed so if you have anything you need to do now would probably be the time" She spoke turning her computer on
"Okay, yeah" he nodded

Ransom had spent the full day at the country club. He didn't realise it but all day he was slowly falling into more old habits, it was like not being around Dianna was making him change. He was snapping at people more often again, not having Dianna to remind him to behave or be polite.
"Your back" mark chuckled taking a seat across from Ransom
He nodded taking a sip of his beer "yup, I am"
"How's Dianna doing?" Mark asked
"She's good, really good. I should actually be leaving to pick her up soon" he checked his watch seeing it was getting closer to 5
"You've been drinking, you can't-"
"I'll do what I want" he spat standing up
Mark sighed rolling his eyes slightly "do whatever you want"
"Thanks for the permission" he grabbed his coat walking out to his car
It didn't take ransom long to arrive at the office, maybe it's because he was driving faster than usual. He wouldn't exactly call it speeding, just moving fast. Once he arrived in the carpark he never even bothered parking, he just pulled up to the door jumping out straight away. He walked into the building just as the clock struck 5.
"What are you doing here?" Walt spat walking towards him
"I'm here to pick up my girlfriend if you must know" ransom hissed back
"Oh your girlfriend, well she's in her office with the new guy" Walt smirked slightly
Ransom knew what Walt was trying to do, he knew he was trying to get a reaction out of him. Dianna would probably tell him to behave or not react but it was hard, Walt was a prick and trying to be nice to him was the hardest thing ransom had to do.
Ransom just shook his head walking towards Dianna's office, opening the door. When he opened the door his eyes focused on how close Dianna and the man who he knew to be Louis, were sitting, their shoulders were practically touching. "Dianna. Are you ready?" He spat, his tone similar to the one he uses with Walt
She looked up, she was excited to see him. She had missed him, she really did but she was confused. He had never used that tone with her, yes with everyone else but never with her. "Ransom, is everything alright?" She was worried something had happened, maybe she had done something?
"Yes. I just want to go home, now come on" he looked to Louis before rolling his eyes slightly
"Okay, yeah sure. I'll see you tomorrow Louis" she stood up grabbing her coat and bag
"See you tomorrow" Louis smiled softly at her
She smiled once more at him before walking out the office, ransom following behind her. The two walked out of the building in silence, ransom didn't even bother to open her door for her. He just walked around to the drivers side jumping in. Dianna knew something was up, he's never been like this with her.
As she got into the car he drove off straight a way. Dianna sighed knowing she would have to say something, she wouldn't go the full night like this. "Have I done something?"
"No. I'm just tired" he spat keeping his eyes on the road
"You know what, you might speak to your friends or even your family like that but you won't speak to me like that. So just drop me off at my apartment" she scoffed, crossing her arms in front of her chest
He glanced over at her, that's when he realised he had took it out on her. She hadn't done anything wrong, it was his own problems that was making him feel like this. Not her. "I'm sorry sweetheart, how about I take you out for dinner?"
"No. Take me home"
"Let's just-"
"I said take me home." She spat, interrupting him
He sighed nodding and turning the car around beginning to drive to her apartment. The rest of the drive they sat in silence, Dianna being too annoyed to talk while ransom just felt guilty. As soon as he pulled up outside the apartment Dianna opened the door. "I'll see you later" she jumped out the car, closing the door behind her
As soon as she was out of sight ransom slammed his hands down on his steering wheel "fuck!" He hissed
