October 20th, 1979 - Chicago
The group had spent more time in Chicago than they had in any other city during their mission thus far. The wizarding part of the city was almost as big as the muggle part, but there were only thirteen confirmed Death Eaters in it. For the past fourteen days, Nephera had felt as though she was searching for a needle in a haystack, looking over the lists and information they had gathered from other Death Eater groups they had attacked.
The names were there, all fourteen of them, as well as some addresses, but it wasn't any good. They needed to find them all in one place, if they left even one of them alive, that person would warn the Salem chapter, and if he recognized her, then Tom would personally come over and make sure she actually died this time around.
She was pouring herself over papers and maps, trying to figure out a way to get them all in one place, when the door of her room burst open, and Dorcas and Rory walked in, "Winchester," said Rory, both of them were panting, leaning onto each other, "We know where they'll- where- tonight," he managed to rasp out
"What?" she asked, standing up and giving them their full attention
Dorcas cleared her throat, trying to catch her breath, "We were getting coffee in that wizarding café down the street, you know the one we go to every day? And some really weird guys walked in, right, so we kept an eye on them-"
"We followed them after they left, they didn't see us, but we heard them talking about some meeting going on today at five at the Goblin Cave-" continued Rory
Nephera was shocked, to say the least, "Goblin Cave? That daycare?" she asked, remembering the time she had passed outside of it
"Yeah, apparently it's the one place no one will look for sketchy business going on," replied Rory, "They said something about the L.A. and New Orleans chapters not responding to letters,"
"Well, fuck," muttered the brunette, "Could you gather up the rest? We need to move fast, meeting's in two hours and we need a plan,"
New Orleans, New York, L.A.
Three cities, over a hundred dead Death Eaters with the help of the rest of the group and the inferni. The same routine every single day. Kill everyone but the leader, convince the leader that she'll let them live in exchange for information, which of course they gave up right before she killed them.
Death Eaters here had a lower guard than those in Britain, they were easier to locate, easier to ambush, easier to kill because they didn't expect anyone to attack them.
Over a hundred dead.
Nephera had long since stopped feeling bad for taking a Death Eater's life. Those people had taken everything from her, her father was gone, and he had abused her for years, she had been tortured by them, her friends were killed by them. So they didn't deserve any mercy, not in the least bit.
Those Death Eaters weren't active in the war in Britain, they were Riddle's backups, in a way. If he lost too many of the British ones, he'd call on them to move across the ocean and serve under him. So, when he realized they were all dead... Well, it would come as quite the shock to him, and the Order would use that shock to get a leg up on the war.
"What's up, Neph?" asked Peter as he and the rest walked into the room
"Rory and Dorcas overheard a couple of Death Eaters talking about a meeting that'll go down in two hours. That's the good news, the bad news is that they're on to us. The reason why they're meeting is that they have tried contacting some of the other chapters in the country and have obviously failed," she announced, not beating around the bush
