October 22nd, 1979 - 12 Grimmauld Place

Sirius, James, and Remus were standing outside the raven-haired boy's personal version of hell. After talking with Nephera, Sirius had decided to indeed turn Grimmauld Place into the Headquarters of the Order, which meant that he had to move in permanently. He thought he was ready, he thought he had overcome the trauma slightly until he came face to face with the front door.

The last time he had seen that door, it was a snowy night during Christmas break of fifth-year, and he had left this house for good, running away to the Potters. Almost four years had passed since then, and yet that door hadn't changed one bit, and for a moment, Sirius's heart froze, expecting his mother to yank it open and pull him inside.

James and Remus had insisted on coming with him, which at first had annoyed the boy greatly. He didn't need them there, seeing the place that frequented his nightmares every night, but now he couldn't be more grateful for the support. Leave it up to those two to know him better than he knew himself, "Pads," it was James that broke the silence, "You don't have to do this, you know that, right? We can come back another day,"

"This is the only day we have that's free from work, Prongs, you know that. And I want to get this place ready for when Nephera comes home,"

Nephera. She was mainly why he had decided to move back in, for the protection the house would offer her. As for him, he'd be able to deal with the nightmares, and the way his skin crawled, as long as he didn't have to stay up every night worrying about a Death Eater raid, "Let's get this over with," he let out a shaky breath and pushed open the door

The interior was exactly how he remembered it, Kreacher had probably been keeping the place up to date even with Orion and Walburga dead. Merlin, that elf would've probably lost its mind there, all alone. Although Sirius supposed he was never sane, to begin with, "Kreacher," he called out, and almost immediately the elf appeared in front of him

"Master brings filth into the Noble House of Black. Master brings half-breeds and blood-traitors," muttered the elf, but stopped once Sirius raised his voice once more, "What can Kreacher do for master? Kreacher lives to serve the Ancient House of Black,"

"Yeah, so I've heard," muttered the boy, "I want you to go to my other house, bring all my clothes, and Nephera's, as well as her books here,"

Kreacher performed an overdramatic sort of bow, so low his nose almost reached the floor, before disappearing from view, "What about Neph's crystals and all that?" asked Remus

"I'll bring those myself, I don't want to risk Kreacher ruining them or anything, Merlin knows he doesn't like me," replied Sirius, although he was distracted, looking around and trying to come to terms with the fact that he was indeed back to the very place he had run away from

Remus made a move to enter, but some invisible force stopped him, "Mate," he pointed out

Only then did Sirius snap out of his daze, "Oh, right. All part of the protection charms, you need express permission from the owner of the house to enter. Come in, James Potter and Remus Lupin,"

"Will you have to say that every time?" joked the Potter boy, trying to bring some light to the situtation

Sirius's lips tugged upwards ever-so-slightly, "Just the once, Potter. But I can take permission away if you keep testing me,"

"I wouldn't dream of it, darling,"

A shrill voice interrupted the two boy's bickering and Remus's laughing, "Is that my son I hear? Where is he? Bring him to me!"
