Part 33

'Please unbuckle your seatbelts sir and mam, your destination is here,' the flight attendant said as I shook Felix to wake him up. It's been a week since Felix proposed to me. It honestly feels like a dream. It's like yesterday that we were fighting over a stupid bet and now, we are engaged to get married. 

'Hey wake up..Lix,' I called him as he rubbed his eyes and sat on his adjustable bed. 'Where are we?' Felix asked. 'We are in Korea now. The plane is about to land. Get up,' I said as his eyes widened. 'Yeah yeah, it's just that I haven't seen my parents and hyung in more than two years. Do you think it will be awkward?' he asked me, worriedly. 'They are your parents and brother after all. It won't be awkward. And now your sister in-law is there too, with your two little nieces. Let's go, they will be so happy to see you,' I said and dragged him out. 

We checked out and exited the airport. 'Heyyyyyy,' Amanda screamed as we both looked at her. 'How you doing Amanda?' Felix asked as she hugged him. 'Good good. I still hate you,' she said and pointed at me. 'Just kidding, sister-in-law. I love you,' she said and pulled me in for a really long hug. 'Why isn't hyung here?' Felix asked as he looked around. 'Talk about him. He is really busy since he has two cases he is working on now. He is hardly home. But he said that he will be there for our dinner out tonight,' Amanda said and squealed. 'C'mon lets go,' she said and pulled me by her hand to her car. 

We both sat down at the passenger's seat as Felix started driving. 'Don't you think you should stop having babies now?' I asked Amanda, glancing at her baby bump. 'No. We are just on our third. We should have at least six right?' she said and rolled her eyes. Si-- nevermind. 'How many kids do you plan on having,' she asked as my cheeks started becoming red. 'One I guess? I don't have time for pregnancy,' I said as she started giggling. 'It's okay, by the time you have one kid, we'll have more two. Your child won't be lonely,' she chuckled. 

'Oh my son is home. My sweet, adorable little baby,' Felix's mother never left Felix ever since he arrived. 'Mom...you are embarrassing me,' Felix whispered and chuckled nervously. 'Why? Who is an outsider here? Hyerin will be our family in a few days, what's the problem?' his mother asked as we both started blushing. It was troubling.  

'So I guess we missed out on a lot of things,' uncle said as we both sat down on the couch. 'Not really,' I said and shook my head. 'Just me proposing to her. Nothing more,' Felix added as I nodded in approval. 'And you are thinking that is a small thing?! Anyway, we are thinking of holding an engagement party. This week. Does that sound good?' auntie asked as I looked at Felix who nodded his head. 'Sure,' I answered. 'Now now, you both go take some rest. You have come a long way. We'll plan everything, now go,' uncle said as I pulled Felix up and went upstairs. 

'Where are Jenna and Ji-ah?' Felix asked Amanda who walked upstairs with the both of us. 'They both are sleeping unfortunately. They both were very excited to you meet you both. So excited that they fell asleep right before you came,' Amanda chuckled as Felix's lips curved up into a big smile. 

'See? I told you that they both will be very happy to meet their uncle,' I asked Felix once we were in his room. 'Yeah,' he replied and giggled to himself. Even if he is 24 years old, he still acts like a 17 year old. 'We have a lot of work to do. The amount of guests we will be having, inviting them, the caterers, decorations, return gifts. A lot is currently on our plates, young man. Go to sleep, we have a dinner to attend to this evening and then the planning. Go go, rest,' I said and exited his room. 'Have I ever told you that you are bossy?' he asked me, an evil smile on his smile. 'Yes, and I have told you not to tell me that again,' I said and exited his room. 

'To a happy family and the marriage of my son to his meant to be love,' uncle stood up and made a toast. We all clapped as he sat back down. 'To the marriage of my son and the birth of baby Donghyeon,' auntie said as we all clapped again. 'To the engagement of my little brother who is not so little anymore,' Lee know chuckled as Felix groaned. 'To Hyerin finally becoming my sister-in-law,' Amanda said and sat down. 'I have been manifesting it for ages,' she whispered into my ear once she sat back down on the table.

 'To my beautiful soon-to-be wife,' Felix raised his champagne glass as I bowed playfully. Now I stood up and rose my glass into the air. 'To be having a wonderful fiancée and soon-to-be husband and finally looking for Haneul,' I said and sat down on my chair. The atmosphere became quiet as I looked around. Lee know and Amanda looked at each other as Felix played with his fingers. Uncle cleared his throat and said, 'Let's begin eating, shall we?' 

I was glad that the air was back to what it was before. They all started laughing among each other. 

'I am sorry if I said something wrong, Felix,' I said to him, once we were back at the house. He had come over to my room. 'No no, you never said anything wrong. I am glad that you told me about Haneul's letter back then. You write to her. I would love to have your best friend and my sister at our wedding,' Felix said as he hugged me and kissed my forehead. 'Thank you,' I whispered as I hugged him back. 

Dear Haneul, 

                         It's your best friend Hyerin. I hope you did not forget about me. You can probably guess why I am writing this letter to you. 

I am engaged...to Felix, just like you said seven years ago. You forced me to promise you that I would not contact you after you left. So I did not. It has been exactly seven years, 5 months and 12 days. I know that you have visited a lot of places and have done a lot of exciting things. I have achieved my dream too, so did Felix and Lee know. You will not believe your eyes when you see Lee know and Felix. They have changed so much. So did Amanda. Yes, Amanda, the school bully. Now she has changed a lot. 

But I won't tell you anything, you will see for it yourself. Only if you are happy, content and...alive. If you decide to not come and see me...BITCH AT LEAST TAKE YOUR PEACH NECKLACE WITH YOU.
