His Strength

Pov of Cagney:

A red flash fills the sky. I look up like so many other citizens. I was supposed to take care of a target but it doesn't matter. There's a second moon. I know what this means. She's not allowed to use it because it causes fear. She'd only use it in an emergency. I run through the woods. I have to protect the flowers. The devil knows if he can't get me he'll piss me off until I arrive. I can't let anyone die.

"YA' FAKIN' IDIOT" is the only thought I can think. It's not her fault I know, but I can't accept this fate.

I arrive to my home. Only the devil has the guts to come here. These woods are "haunted".

I'm greeted by...kids? They want my soul. My soul... Kids?! I don't like beating young ones to a bloody pulp but I won't let anyone take my happiness.

"Fine...I'll kill ya' little shites!" I smile a fake innocent smile. I go easy on them it shouldn't be hard anyway.

They fire away. EH-?! Wait THEY GOT GUNS? HANDS? PEW PEW HANDS! Fine... I can play dirty!

I unleash various plants onto them. They out power me. NO THERE'S NO WAY. I'm not no weakling! I'm strong! I'LL NEVER BE WEAK!

With a shout from my very soul, I grab my mouth snake (I can't spell tounge) and pull. My shout turns into a loud roar.

A beast I've become. I hate this form, for it has a mind if it's own. KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL THEM FUCKERS! My mind is filed with the thought of murder. But these bullets hurt so much.

I'm at my limit yet... Yet... And yet? I'm weaker than them... No... No way! I'm gonna pass out! I CAN'T GIVE IN! NOT NOW... NOT EVER! NEVER NEVER NEEVVVVEERRRR!!! My eyes roll back as I fall down. I'm in a hollow shell of the beast I was just a second before. Vines form around my body. They have thorns to protect me. My soul... My dream... My happiness... Was just a piece of parchment. They take it away.

"I'm... So.. Sorry..."

Who were those words aimed at?

Does it even matter? No one's gonna hear them.
