Chapter 12

G A V R I L

The birds chirping outside made me realize it's already morning. I push my laptop aside, my limbs spread to stretch out.

I take out my glasses walking out while rubbing my sore eyes. I find Gen making coffee, "Pour me a cup as well." I say, he glances at me. The newspaper goes down revealing Alastair.

"The worm is out of it's hole." Gen jokes, Alas chuckles.

"Sometimes I forget I have three brothers not two." Alas states.

"You know exactly how many brothers you have." I glare at him, he narrows he's eyes at me.

"What was that?" He folds the newspaper.

"Just a reality check, how does it feel to relax when Adras is out there in the dangerous world alone?"

"Hey bud calm down there." Gen puts a coffee mug on the bar, "It's fine, he'll be fine." He hugs me, I glare at Alastair who seems to have realized that I know the BIG secret.

"Here have some tea instead and get some sleep." Gen pulls back and hands me tea in a coffee mug.

"That's a lot of tea." I state, he chuckles.

"I thought it was the same as coffee. Seems I was wrong." He shrugs.

I take a sip, it's pretty good. Alas sips his coffee deep in thoughts.

"Has that bastard called you yet?"

"Yeah, the thing got a bit complicated. I don't know why dad messes with such people." I grimace as the tea gets bitter. I put it down, "I have a really bad feeling about this."

"What's the matter? Want me to step in?" Gen switches to Varón mode. I shake my head.

"It'll just make things worse, already one of us is deep inside the mud we don't need another one. Right Alas?" I ask, he puts his mug down.

"I won't let anything happen to him." Alas says, I trust him but the uneasy feeling is still there.

This time it's different, I've seen Marcus Damiano look at her, it's the way you look at someone you want to have more than just a fling. It's going to root deep, it's going to cause trouble.

CHAPTER 12
{AGREEMENT}

He parks outside a two story mansion, it's white and grey colored. We get off, I follow him inside, the lights turn on.

It's modern and pretty, I smile at the plants in the living room. He's kept his house well.

"Have a seat, I'll get the drinks." He says, I nod and sit on the couch. I see a smart TV sized photo frame in the wall.
