what is this feeling
of stiffness in my throat
like swallowing a tooth
and losing it somewhere down the stomach
suffocating in the green pit
fear is a four letter word that takes up every page
the worst truth being the fear has value
the fear has already taken its destructive form
and it's carving through my soul like the tip of the canine
it forges a path to nowhere
i can hear my sore bones scream out
"when?"
when will the confusion leave its chokehold on me
impulsions that weigh down my chest
each breath like the petal of a dying rose
grows weaker and weaker
self hatred has claws of an eagle, scooping me in them, gripping me by the collar
please hold these broken bones
and lie to me sweetly
tell me it's okay
